PIRATES COME IN 1st PLACE
The Pirates Little League team coached by Dick Staulbaum took first place last Monday night, July 12th. Members of the team from left to right are as follows:

Despite a shortage of players, the Braves gave it a good try as they came in 3rd, receiving certificates for their award. They were coached by Dick Spears and Bob Hight, Back row - John Spears and Brian Spears.

Pictured above are the employees of the State Bank of Huntiey, whodressed in Bicentennial costumes last week in honor of the 4th of July. The employees wore their costumes for two days while carrying on their regular banking jobs.
Wayne Miller, President of the State Bank of Huntiey, said that they intend  to dress in  Bicentennial costum« for the   125th Anniversary celebrationin August.
HUNTLEY UONS CLUB NEWS
The winner of the Vacation for two was Gonzalo Alvina of Dun¬ dee. The winning ticket was sold by Lion Dick Swanson who is on the same bowling team as Mr. Alvina. The next meeting of the Huntley Lions Club will be a special one and will be held at Pineerest Golf and Country Club July 27, at 7:30 P.M. Those attending are asked to call Chuck Lamb 669-5520 for dinner choice of chicken or steak. Call before July 26th. All monies are asked to be tumed to Lion Dennis Rudsin¬ ski, so that the BarBQ receipts may bie tallied.

Saturday June 19
Mr. & Mrs. Del Borhart picked us up at 12:30 PM to go to O' Hare Field. The plane lifted off at 4:15 PM bound for Los Angeles and Honolulu. We arrived LA at 5:45 PDT. Leaving again at 7:35 PM. we arrived in Honolulu at 9:30 Honolulu Time. After a tradition¬ al Lei greeting we were transport¬ ed by bus to the Ala Moana Hotel. Many Lions from Dundee and Elgin and other Illinois cities were with us. John & Mabel Poeschl (Mrs. Glen Delaney's parents) were in our group also. At the briefing at 8:00 AM the next moming, we were given optional tours to look over and purchase for the 2 weeks we were to be there. Sunday, June 20th. at 1:00 PM we took the tour of the city, going also to the Punrlihowl National Cemetery, where tho landscape is really beautifully laid out-thousands of military person¬ nel are buried there, along with famous Ernie Pylf. At 5:00 PM we were picked up again at our hotel, and taken to Sea Life Park for a Luau and show. The dolphins and whales were certain¬ ly trained well. Del and Fran and Frieda liked the luau food, but to be honest, I did not. The Polyne¬ sian show afterward was some¬ thing to behold. The various ceremonial movements and hulas were good. Several Lions were called upon the stage to partici¬ pate, including Dr. Stanley Tyl- man, whom the Huntley Lions Club members know, I must add here that our tour bus drivers were all called Cousin so-and-so and they gave a running commen¬ tary of all the sights, could name the Various flowers and trees, and kept the singing of songs going¬ like "Pearly shells"-etc. Anyway, on the way back from Sea Life Park which was some 1 hour • away-we all sang, and everyone shouts "Aloha" when that is spoken to them. Back to the Hotel at midnite. Monday-June 21st.
7:00 AM John and Mabel had breakfast with Frieda and I. At 8:30 AM Del and Fran, Frieda and I were picked up again by the tour bus and taken on the Pearl Harbor Cruise, which brought back a lot of memories to me. Pearl Harbor was my home port for some time during the War. This was a very lengthly cruise, and the day was very clear, so Del must have some good pictures.
