A request from Wendell Weltzien for a two inch hook up to the Hunt¬ ley water main for his building on Route 47 was referred to the water oonuiattee for sfaidy to determine

D Dziewoir New Chief of Police
Mr. Dan Dziewior was appointed Chief of Poiioe at the July llth Vil. lage Board meeting. Chief Dziewior was hired by tiie Village as a patrol¬ man on February 1, 1974. He made the rank of Scffgeaiw on May 1st of this year when Cliief Wm. Friedel resigned.
Prior to coming to Huntley, the Chief was assistant shift supervisor, seniar patrolman, for the Village of Carpentersville, where he was employed for 5V4 years. Before that he was in an intelligence unit in the U.S. Army obtaining the rank of Sergeant. His work dealt with mili¬ tary security measures and at times he had canplete control of security for a pcxtion of the Niki missdle progi'am. He received two bnonze stars with V for valor in September of 1966.
Chief Dziewior came to Huntley with fifteen letters of recommenda. tion from bis superiors, village of¬ ficials, mayors, judges and state's attorney. He has several awards is¬ sued by the Viliage of Carpenters¬ ville for meritorious service to the conununity and received one of the highest awards issued by the Na¬ tional Potice Officers assodaticn for apiirehension of a known felon. He also received commendation from the same asfiOoiation in connection of the appnehensloa of a man wiio held tiuee children at knife point. Continued on Page Two NEW CHIEF

In December of 1973 he was hired by the Vlllagt as a part time officer and put on as a full timo officer at the July llth Village Board meeting.
Stolquist lives in Huntley and plans to marry in the near future.

A special! meettng of the Huntiey Paj-k Distridt Board was held on Wednesday, July 3rd, 1974 at 6:30 p.m. Upon roll call' tose present were Commissioivers Macketien, Parisek, and Tures, with Ownmis- sioners E>eicke and Ream absent. The purpose of this meeting whs to agree on the purchase of a used traeboiP.
Mr. Tures presented a qu<)te on a used Internationa] 354 tnactor. which he obtained from Freund Equipment Co., in the amount of >$2,49O.0O. After discussing the mat. ter a motion was made by Mr. Mac¬ keben, seconded by Mr. Tures, to purchase the tracbor from Flreunds. Upon roll call ^ Conunifasdooens voted aye and ttie motion carried

The extension of the July school board meeting was held last Monday might, July 15, in the board Of edu¬ cation room of the high school. All were present with the exception of Mrs. Jones and Mr. Maries.
A motion was made by Mr. Brett¬ schneider and seoonded by Mr. Ruth to accept the resignation of Jundor- Senior English teadier Chris Holaves. The motion carried 6 ayes, no nays.
Next on the agenda was the hiring of a new high school secretary. A motion was made by Mr. Ruth and seconded by Mrs. Simpson to ap¬ prove the contract of Mary Weimer. The vote oarrned all ayes.
A motion was n^ade by Mr. Bond and seconded by Mr. Rutii tjo aocept the following dates as curriculum days for the 74-75 scihool year: Sep. tembei- 11, October 23, December 5, April 16, and May 14. The motion carried all ayes.
The next order of business was the offering of the followdng extra¬ curricular positions: head and assist¬ ant football coaohes, head and assist' amt high sciiool basfcetiiall coaches, high school baseball ooaidi, high school cheeriea(£ng advisor, oolor guaid advisor, atWetic (Hredtor, vo¬ oal director, band cftrector, dean of students, G.A.A. advisor, student oouncil adviser, and the gill's athle¬ tics coaching posiitions. A motion was made by Mr. Brettsdmeideir and seoonded by Mrs. Simpson to award these positions to tbe inoumbents. of these'posJtiODS. Tbe motioo oar¬ ried all ayes.
