WHEREAS: The gift of s^t is one of mankind's greatest treasures and
WHEREAS: Human sight is often lost throu^ the eye disease, glau¬ coma
WHEREAS: The Lions Club of Huntley and the Illinois Sodety for the Preventlwi of Blindness are generously cooperating to provide free glaucoma screening for the citizens of Huntley
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Wilpault Brill, Mayor of Huntley, do hereby proclakn the week of July 20 of the present yeer as glaucoma week in Huntley and call upon our citizens to join in tiiis observance and to support this noble cause by having their eyes screened for glaucoma on July 20, 1971.

Present were: President Brill; Trustees Olhaber, O'Connor, Ens¬ trom, Zimmerman and Clerk Ens¬ trom.

The Aimual FFA picnic will be held Sunday, July 25th at Deicke Park. The picnic is for FFA mem¬ bers and past and present oouncil members.
On Monday, July 12, the State of Dlinois broke a gas main on Route 47 in Huntley. The State was dig¬ ging a sewer to drain water from the west side of the highway.
Work started On the project at 7:30 A.M. At approximately 9:15 A.M. they reputured a high press¬
ure 4 inch gas main.
Residents in the area of the M & H Dairy Mart were asked to leave their homes of close there windows because of fumes. The gas company was contacted and by 11:15 the leak was repaired.
Lutheran Church Picnic
Trinity Lutheran Church will hold their Annual All Church Pic¬ nic next Sunday July 18 at Deicke Park. The outdoor service will be¬ gin at the park at 10:30 A.M. A pot_luck dinner will follow. Mem¬ bers are asked to bring fool, drink and eating untensils for their family The 8:00 A.M. service will be con¬ ducted at the churoh as usual. There will be no Sunday SchooL
Black and White Show
The Annual Black ft White Show was held at the McHenry County Fair Grounds in Woodstock last Saturday, July 10th.
This year instead of trophies the Block and White organization gave sterling silver serving dishes to high place winners. ^-
Winners from Huntiey were: Steve Van Acker, lst ta Juntor Yeariing Bull; Karen Manke, Ist in Intermediate Heffer, Larry Bor, hart, 1st in Junior Yeffiling; ^- via Fruin, Girls Showmsnship, lst in older cow, a blue hi sire class, a blue in dame and daughter dass; Ron Botterman, Altemate Show¬ manship in bojrs cisss; and Sue Hennig, 1st in dry cows.
