Memorial Day
The month of May brings us again to Memorial Day. So the Huntley American Legion Post 673 will ob¬ serve the day with proper ceremon¬ ies on Monday, May 31st.
The members and other partici¬ pants wiU assemble at the Post Home at 7 A.M. and proceed from there to the Union American Legion where breakfast will be served at 7:30 A.M. At 9 A.M. they will join the Union Legion and mach to tile cemetary there. After the ceremonies they will retum to Huntley.
The Huntley parade wiU leave from in front of the Legion Home at 10:45 and wiU march to the ceme¬ tery.
The program at the cemetery is as follows:
Invocation by the Rev. Fredrick Harm ThD, of Trinity Lutheran Church, Huntley. Mayor WUpault Brill will give a brief welcoming address. Pam Edmonson, an 8th grade student at the Huntley School wiU recite the well-known and fitting poem: "In Flanders Fields" The main speaker of the day is Russ Bieritz of Geneva, the Past toaanander pf tte f^mi' ¦ can LegolA, Departm^ Of 111- Inois, who WlU address the assem¬ bled audience.

Faye Marlowe Honored
Two McHenry county college sen¬ iors - outstanding students at the University of lUinois - were honor¬ ed last week at the "lOO's Banquet" sponsored by the Alumni Association and the lllini Union Student Activ¬ ities.
Chosen as among the most out¬ standing seniors were Faye Marlowe Huntley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Marlowe; and Daniel Feldt Woodstock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Feldt.
The recepticm and dinner was held at the lllini Union to honor the most outstanding senior activity leaders.
Miss Marlowe, 22, is a music edu¬ cation major and has training to teach both vocal and choral courses. Active in many University extra¬ curricular events during her four years at the University, Miss Mar¬ lowe also participated in many Uni¬ versity events involving her musical talents and knowledge.
She was a member of the Cham¬ ber choir the past year and was a lead participant in a musics^ Stunt Show. She was piano accompanist for Qie Woodstock Cfadrll |«f^' ,'ai«Mfll''««h tlie Rockford :SMi<MlK^ Orchestra.
