An open meeting with the school board was held last Monday at 8 p.m. in the board rown of the high- school. A light turnout was on hand at this meeting. The purpose of the meeting, as stated by Mr, Marks, was to see what the public wanted in ai proposed gym com¬ plex. Police Report
Assistance was given to a motoilst that ran out of gas on Rte. 47, North of town.
An open door was found at a local business office while on patrol, door had not been closed completeiy at the time the plant shut down toir the day. Offictrs checked the area and set the dtoor tight.
Assist to a he^ victim that suf¬ fered a seizuro and was aided by the police dept. and the rescue squad and then tnarasported to the Sher¬ man Hospdtal.
Livestock had become loose and were .roaming the street and yard areas. The Huntley poiioe played cowboy and participated in rodeo activities and oorraled the critters and Ijelped the farmer return them to the farm yard.
Assfeted in a personal injury with the Cbunty Police Dept. Motim had fallen, huj[<ting his back and arm. The HunUey rescue squad attended to the man and rushed him to the Sberman Hospital.
Huntley Police Dept. attended a traffic aooident involving three cars, "niere wesre no niajor injuries and all oars were driven away. A ticket was issued for fiailure to reduce speed to avoid an aoddent.

Following this, the meeting went into a question and answer session. One of the questions brought up was if the board felt that a new gym facility was needed. The gen¬ eral feeling of the board was (hat it is needed. Then the board was questioned on what the basic needs are and what they would like to see in the complex. said that possibly more and new gymnastics could be taught as well as expanding diower rooms and storage rooms for girls. Another idea discussed was the possibility of a cafeteria being biild along with the complex. Laurence MoCarthy, Ri. 1 Box 83, Huntley, was returning home at a- bout 5:30 P.M.Tuesday, August 20, when he heard a child crying, police repoi-t. He found a 2 year old boy, naked, in the ddtch. The child was covered with tar and dirt. He took the child into the house and tried to clean Mm up, acooiiding to sheriff's report. The boy was so scared and shook up that he couldn't do any¬ thing with him.
At at)Out tWs time, McOarthy's neighbor (urudentyied) came to the iiome staiting that he had found a 7 year old whom-he had returned to his parents; Mr. and Mrs. Ohariesk Van Houten, Route 1, Hampshire, who are also the parents of 2 year old Thomas Van Houten, the repoit continued; Mr. Van Houten staited to the Sheriffs Police that the child¬ ren had been playing with their 9 year old sister and tliat they had been missing since 1 P.M. (about 4 hours).

FFA Plans Bicycle Safety Week
The Huntley FFA chapter is pleased to announce that they are planning to sponsor their bicyde safety week pirogram again this year. This highly suocessfiA pro¬ gram, that reached almost all the cfaildren in tiie school diBbict, will include mudvof tbe same events as last year plus some possikte ad¬ ditions yet to be announoed.

The Huntly Harvesters 4-H dub Baseball team oame in second in sitate ccmpetition last .Tuesday, August 20tti. The team was greeted by friends and parents who escorted them tlmnugh town In a hom Mow¬ ing victory pattade. Later, a dinner was served at Dedcke Park. Sterling, niinods was tfae site of two 4-H Huntley Haryester victories on the way to a possible Stiate 4-H Softball tttle. HunUey, tbe McHen¬ ry County ohampion, ti'aveled to Sterling August 6 to play two games. Being the county champions, they were allowed to pick five other play¬ ers fixwi other MoHenry Oounty teams and one Other coach.
At 10:45 a.m. in Sterling, the Harvesters faced the Lake Counrty champs. The Hunfley squad took this one with little troiible, 18-3. HunUey^ attack was sparked by a three^run firet inning and two six-, run innings, one of these in ttoe second inmi* and the odier in the third. Steve Luth and Jofm t]ra£all both had Hour hite wiule Don Li«er. hausen, Steve Van Acker, and "lYxn Lageriiausen each had three hits apiece.
