Bud- zinski of Carpentersville, 111. was mrested by Huntley Police for speed¬ ing and driving ¦wbile intoxicated, he oould not post bond so he was taken to McHenry County jail for holding, court date is set for Febru¬ ary 23, 1976 at McHenry County Courthouse. February 1, 1976, A citizen tumed in a lost dog to the Police Dept, a short time later it was claimed by its owner. Feb. 2. 1976. An open door was found at a local business, nothing was found tampered with or dis¬ turbed, it was apparently left open by an employee. Shoe Box To Leave Huntley February 29 Mr. and Mrs. Butch Beelart, owti- ere of tho Hu!>tlcy Shoe Box an¬ nounced today that Febi-uary 29 •wt]1 be their ast da yin busiases. Between now and that date they •will remain ooon 7 days a week until supplies re gone. The Beelart's are cla-^ing the Shoe Box beoause of personal and health reasons. TTie Hurtle yShoe Box opened for business in 1970, in the building on Main Street which formerly housed Hansen Heating and Plumb¬ ing. Prior to tliat time Mr. Beeteit had sold shoes m the Huntley area on a special order basis. They wisii to thank the many friends they mado through out their years of business in Huntley. Chuck the Barber Moves Off Main St. After 18 Years Eighteen years of opcirating a bar- bcTsihop on Main street ended last weekend when Charles Lamb, af¬ fectionately known as "Chuck the Ba'.toer", moved his shop to SDuth Wood&U'ck St. in back cf Parkside Irm. Chuck can be seen with a few of his many friends who helped in the moving process. Chuck was forced to move when the building he was in was sold to an out of town fumilurc store, wh ¦will take possession this spring. Cl;iyton, who went out of the gro- Carl Walde Retires After 21 Years A retiement pa-ty was held for Oarl 'Waide lasit Friday, Janua-y 30 in the lobby of th? p:st office. Appr: ximately 250 people attended the farewell parly. Four of the five cakes prfpared were consumed by Mr. 'Waldo's many friends. ITie fifth oake decorated with a post office emblem frosting was taken home by the Waldes. Mr. 'Walde worked for the post office for 21 yea-s and 2 mo^nlhs. Prior to that time he managed ard owned Little America for 5 years and farmed. When Mr. WalJe start¬ ed to work for the post office it was located in the Kelly building and Wayne Dcmahue was post mas¬ ter. Mr. Walde received many cards and a letter of commendatioin from post master Mr. Michleson for his mary years of service. Tit'^ ."" .".'^,'7, ~.,'f*^{'."'*}fT'^/^"^l^ Park Board Minntes The regular meeting of the Hunt¬ ley Park District Board was held on Wednesday, January 28th, 1976, at 8;00 p.m. The meeting was call¬ ed to order by President Parisek, with Commissioners Markebai, Parisek and Ruth present and Com¬ missioners Deieke and 'lures ab¬ sent. The Secretary was asked to read the mdnutes of the previous meet¬ ing of December 17, 1975, after which a motion was made by Mr. Ruth, seoonded by Mr. Mackeben, to iK>prove the minutes as read. AS Connalnionen wted «y« end the motion carried. Th Treasurers report was then presented, showmg a balance in the chocking acount of $41,186.14. A motion was made by Mr. Macke¬ ben, secorded by Mr. Pariek, to accept the report as presented. All Commissiontsrs voted aye and the repcrt was filed for audit. The President then presented the monthly bills lot payment, after which a motion vas made by Mr. Ruth, secondetl by Mr. Mackeben, to pay all bills us presented. Upon roll call all crmmissiorers voted aye and the motion carried. This service will cost 30c a pound for washing and 60c a pound for cleaning.
