School Board Mee^tg April 12
The Board of Education will meet April 12th for the Regular Board Meeting.
The first activity will be to Can¬ vass the Election held on April I Oth. The new niembers will then be seat¬ ed to form the new Board.
The new Board will give their at¬ tention to the following items of new Basiness: Anticipation War¬ rants, New High School Courses for next year. School Calendar, and the preparation of a request to the Special Education District of Mc¬ Henry County for Contractural Serv¬ ices.
Items of Old Business include: the disposal of the used Dishwasher, Jr. High Library plans, and staff needs for 1971-72.
Lions Athletic Banquet April 27
The Lions Club Athletic Dinner will feature Art Keller as the speak¬ er on Tuesday, April 27th.
Mr. Keller is the highly success¬ ful coach of Carthage College. In 1962 and 1969 he coached the only unbeaten Football Teams in Carth¬ age Grid Annuals. Mr. Keller rank¬ ed 12th among' the NCAA College Divisions most winning actve grid Coaches in 1969. The Coach lost one game to Western Illinois during the 1970 season.

i4pn7 Village Board Meeting
The Village Board meeting was held oo April 1. Present were Mr. Fitzi, Mr. Enstrom, and Mr. CHd- haber. The meeting was not oalied to order until eight o'clock because of lack of a quorum, where upon Mr. Steab entered. Mr. Donaid^ Enstrom was presiding over tbe meeting.
At the meeting was discussed the new ordinance amending an ordin¬ ance establisbing regulations lot the construction, erection, repair, alter¬ ation, removal, safety and inspection of buildings and structures in the Village of Huntley, McHenry Coun¬ ty.
Also discussed was tM» zoning hearing which shaU be held to the near future.

One hundred forty-two oontestants participated in the meat judging. Huntley's team was one of the forty-six teams.
The milk judging team was com¬ posed of Arthur McPheron, Jbn Henning, and Dean Landorf was al¬ so given a red 'B" Award. Arthur McPheron rated a Red Ribbon In¬ dividual award while the others re¬ ceived "C" White Ribbon Awards. This team was one of 24 teams. Seventy students were contestants in the milk judering.
State Solo and Ensemble Contest
Saturday, April 3rd, the high school chorus and band members competed in the State District I Class C Solo and Ensemble contest held at Forreston, Ulhiois. The re¬ sults were as follows: six Division I ratings; nine Division II ratings; one Division III rating.
Those receiving: a Division I rating were — Girb' Vocal Trio — Pam Jirik, Barb Schultx, and Diane Ungs; Pam Jirik — Piano Solo; Tom Kwwin — Tromlwne Solo; John Adams — Saxophone Soto; Dnmi Quintet — (Scott Harm, Gary Schultz, Rick Master, Latry Del¬ aney, and Mark Zorica); Ann Mich¬ elsen — Piano Solo.
Those receiving a Division H rating were — Giris' Duet — Nancy Rohlwing, Janet Spradlin; Woodwbid Duet — Bonnie Nerby and Katby Swanson; Girls' Sextet — Nancy Rohlwing, Janet Spradlin, Peg Hab¬ bley Michele Lane, Karen Bor¬ hart, and Regina Manning; Vocal Solo — Terry Aaavang; Brass Quin¬ tet — Pat DcMudiue, Regma Man¬ ning, Jay M(^tor, Jane Michdisen, Steve Schachtner. Grafton tovrnshJ^ araa residents are urged to attend as this river crosses the intenection of Franklinville blacktop and Stetf Route 176.

Mr. Kenneth Fiske of Uie SoU and Water Conservation District of Mc¬ Henry County chaired the meeting and he told Crystd Lake NEWS reporter that the 3 groups wUI par¬ ticipate in tfae monitoring of the Water quaUty to the East Branch of the Kishwaukee River. Four tests a year are hoped for t>y the com¬ mittee.
Money wUI be given to private landowners to assist in lolvmg the conservation problems in the water shed. There is $90,000 avaUabto ior this phase of the project The catfac project may receive $126,000 ftctn the Federal Government as its ifaare of this project. The entire amount is $197,500. The cities wUl partici¬ pate in removing the sUt. The coan¬ ty and townsliip wiU participate in the lowering of the culverts under the bridges, many of which are too hi^ and Uierefore act as dams stopping the free flow of the water and flooding of the fields. Many of the present drams are also higher than tbe water level.
The individiml land owner may receive funds to aid him in buUding waste control outlets so that the animal wattes do not poUute the water. Mr. Fiske steted tbat up to 80% of the coet of some of tfae projects wUl be t>om by the Federal government, Ibe entire cost to thi Rural Bwrirenmental aaristance pro¬ gram is $197,500.
