WL Plan Ice Cream Social
The Walther Leaguers of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hunt¬ ley will hold their annual Ice Cream Social on Sunday, June 22 from 5-9 p.m.
The League will serve bnrbc- ques, hot dogs, potato Chips, ito cream, pie, cake and beverages. The whole community is invited so bring the family and have a good time!

Police Report
On Friday. June 13, a car driven by Roger Nolan. 46, of 137 Terry Ct., Woodstock, Illinois, struck a parked car owned by Ellen Jane Conrad'., 2C. of 16C May Street, Grayslake,   Illinois.
According to police, Mr. Nolan was proceding oast on Main Str¬ eet, crossed Church Street, and bumped into the rear bumper and cutting the right front tire, push¬ ing the parked vehicle up on the curb.
Mr. Nolan was ticked by Patrol man Donald Greene of the Huntley Police Department for careless driv¬ ing under a villa^ OtdihBniic.
Boy Scouts Say Thank You For 8 Ton
The Iluntley Boy Scouts wish to thank oil those who helped with the paper drive last Saturday, June 14. A total of 8 ton ijf paper was col¬ lected. The next Boy Scout paper drive will be in October.
Park Board Minutes
A special trieeting was held June Ilth, 1969 at 8:00 P.M. for the purpose of awarding bids and de¬ termining the amount of funds available for the projects involved. The following Were present: Com¬ missioners: Parisek, Piske. Deicke, Tessei:!orf and Kiley; Park En¬ gineer Scheflow, Attorney Cowlin ^ and a visitor Robert Conley, a representative of Bryant Buildings.
Mr. Scheflow was recognized and then read his final analysis. He stated he had contacted the bidders I involved in regard to some altera tions and cuts made in the various plans. As previously scheduled, low bidders were as follows: Int. Roads

Wilmer Rohlwing, general chair¬ man of the Lions Chicken Barbeque reports that 1125 people were ser¬ ved between the hours of 11:00 a^m. and 4.:0fl p-m, prt. Syniaj^ June 15th, Father's Day. All of the food at the barbeque was sold by the end of the day.
Mr. Rohlwing thanks all of the peoeple who helped make this bar¬ beque cne of the biggest in the his¬ tory of the club. He wishes to thank all the club members and their wives for their help in preparing the dinner and working on the var ious  behind-the-scenes   committees.
This is the HunUey Lion's Club main fund raising activity. Money realized from this event is used to promote youth activities through¬ out the Huntley  area.

Huntley Legion Hold Flag Burning

Last Sunday, June 15, the Huntley Amer. Legion held a flag burning ceremony in front trf the Legion home on Coral Street. The Colors were advanced and saluted at which time Marine PFC Douglas Jordi, attired in dress uniform, played Retreat Huntley Legion Commander, Robert S<^ultz read the foUowing:
"Comrads,  we  have   presented /b/tra these Flags (rf our Country
which have been inspected and condemned    as    unserviceable. They have reached their present \ state   in   a  proper   service   of tribute,   memory   and   love.   A FUg may  be a  flimsy   bit  of printed   gause,  or a  beautiful ; banner of flnest silk.   It's  in¬ trinsic value may be trifling or [ great; but its real value is be- ' yond price, for it is a precious synib(d of all  that we and our .
comrads have worked for and lived for, and died for — a free nation of free men, true to the faith of the pa.st, devoted to the ideals and practice of Justice, Freedom and Democracy. "Let these faded Flags of our Count¬ ry be retired and destroyed with respect and honoraWc rites and their places be taken by bright new Flags of the same size and kind, and let no grave of our soldier or sailor dead be un¬ adorned and unmarked. Destroy these Flags by burning. The membera shall stand at attent¬ ion."
The Legion Chaplin offered a prayer and the condemned Flags were dipped in kerosene and placed on the tack. The Legionnaires stood at attention and saluted each of the condemned Colors for the last time Following the Flag btiming, the Color Guard retired the colors.
Althotgh the last Flag Burning in Huntley took place in 1960, a relatively small number of Flags were destroyed.
Commander Rober Schultz stated that if anyone has a Flag to be destroyed, they may brihg it to the American Legion and at a future date another Flag bumfag will take place,

School Board Minutes
The regular meeting of the Hunt ley Board of Education was held Wednesday. June Ilth, 1969. Mr. Jirik, Mr. Bein, Miss Mackeben, Mrs. Thrun and Mr. Stading were present. Absent were Dr. Grau and Mr.   Bastian.
A motion was made by Mr. Bein, seconded by Mfs. Thrun to aprove of the minutes as read. The motion carried 5 yea's, no nays.
A motton was ntad* by Mrs. > Thrun, seconded by Mias Mackeben to approve of the resignation (rf Mary Little, effective as  f 4une Ilth, 1^9. The motion carried 5 yea's, no nay's.
A motion was made by Mr. B^in seconded by Mr. Stading to pay the regular monthly bills. The motion carried 5 yea's, no nay's.
At 8:06 P.M., Mr. Bastian en¬ tered the meeting.
A motion was made by Mrs. Thrun seconded by Mr. Bastian to pay $6689.32 to the Harris Trust and Savings Bank for interest on building bonds. The motkm carried 6 yea's.

year. He then made his final recommen¬ dations as follows:
He recommended the contract of $2,976.00 be awarded to Bak¬ ley Construction Corp., with a balance of $4,000.00 to be paid next year; entrance work awarded to Zimmerman and Kahler of $6,200.00; and shelter awarded lo Lake Region, Inc. in the amount of $1,000.00. As to the fire^ce, he could make no futher re(»m- mendations.
The Chainnan then recognised Commissioner Deicke, who stated that he felt the entrance comjdete with iiientity and landscaping should be acc(nnplished this y^ar.
