Absent: Mr. Greve, Mr. Freeberg. All present joined in the pledge to the flag. 1. Mrs. McDonald moved, Mr. Crabill 2nd to approve the minutes of the Sept. 19 regular meeting as written. 5 yeas - 0 nays Motion carried. 2. Mr. Crabill moved", Mrs. McDonald 2nd to approve the minutes of the Sept. 19 executive session as written. 5 yeas - 0 nays Motion carried. 3. Mrs. McDonald moved, Ms. Ahrens 2nd to approve payment of monthly agenda of bills and imprest. Education - $52,468.53; OBM - $66,383.90; Transportation - $11,217.73. Yeas: McDonald Ahrens, Heavey, Crabill, Bauman Nays: None Pass: Greve 5 yeas - 0 nays - 1 pass Motion carried. 4. Mr. Crabill moved, Mr. Greve 2nd to approve the activity fund transfer of $376.55 from #315 to #409. 6 yeas - 0 nays Motion carried. 5. Mr. Greve moved, Mr. Heavey 2nd to adopt the resolution to repay $460,000 from the education fund to the working cash fund; $115,000 from the OBM fund to the working cash fund; $45,000 from the transportation fund to the working cash fund. Yeas: Greve, Heavey, Ahrens, McDonald, Bauman, Crabill Nays: None 6 yeas - 0 nays Motion carried. 6. Mrs. Heavey moved, Mr. Bauman 2nd to adopt the resolution to loan $400,000 to the education fund from the working cash fund; $200,000 to the OBM fund from the working cash fund; $46,000 to the transportation fund from the working cash fund. The Huntley High School Class of 1979 held their 10 year class reunion on September 23rd at John Evans Inn, Crystal Lake, IL. 55 people showed up for dinner and a DJ. Prizes were handed out for being married the longest, having the most children, and traveling the farthest. Terri Ream-Arias came all the way from Plantation, Florida, but Laura Sinclair-Bach and her husband traveled from Benecia, California. A great time was had by all. Penguins Dance at the Snow Ball ^\m I rm Lucky winners that were present at the Penguin raffle: Jeff Meyer, Brenda Hoffman, Peter Roberts. Alice Jordi winner but absent The Penguins held their annual Snow Ball dance at the Huntley American Legion on November 11, 1989. Would like to thank the following people who came down and decorated the hall: Julie ii Chuck Olson, Buzz ii Carol Barton, Dennis Shamhart, Rod Zoellick ii son. Herb ii Don Glissendorf, Clark Borhart, Bob ii Georgia Durrenberger, Molly ii Dave Viita, ii Jim Dall. A lot of hard work but the results speak for them¬ selves. The Penguins would like to thank the following businesses who gave door prizes to our dance: T.T's Custom Painting ii Repair, Scholl's, Steier's Yamaha, Rinelli Distributors, L & V Distributors, Huntley Phar¬ macy, Huntley Supermarket, McHenry Savings Bank, State Bank of Huntley, Sportsman's Bar, American Bar ii Grill, Clasen's Tavern, Tuckers Food Inc., Parkside Tap, Wander Inn, Luigi's Pizza, Village Inn, Huntley Auto Supply, Brookdale Graphics, Huntley American Legion, Harry Wolden, R.L. Ryerson, Chuck Sass for DFC, Mona's Place, McCain Construction ii Jim Mottram. Everyone had a great time dancing to the music provided by Straight Ahead Production. Thanks Mike Hoffman for putting on a good program. Dennis Shamhart was our MC for the night, he always knows how to please a crowd. Special thanks to Peter Roberts ii Danny Russell who manned the front door all night, to Wanda Enstrom & her kitchen help who served ham sandwiches for us, and to the bartenders Jim Mattram, Lee Stump and Don Enstrom. Without all of these people helping the Penguins, one way or the other, our Snow Ball dance would not be a huge success. The lucky winners of the Penguins money raffle were: $300.00 - Brenda Hoffman, $100.00 - Alice Jordi, $ 50.00 - Jeff Meyer, $ 50.00 - Peter Roberts. Our top raffle seller was Dan Bethke who sold a little over 300 tickets. He will receive a free membership application for the following year. Thanks Dan.
