Harvard Milk Day Queen Candidates
This year Harvard's Ilth Annual Milk Prince ?nd Princess Contest will take on a new look.
That look will be yours at the 3rd Annual Milk Oay Style Show to be hiM^if •giOCr'P.M. ThiirsdaK Way 21 in the Harvard High School auditorium.
Along with the lovely new show¬ ings of f£j-hions by the Harvard mechant-i, ycu will have a first glimpse of the prince and princess' original croalicns fashioned of crepe paper, ;ind mc deled by the little girls and boys from the Milk Center area. Rules and regulations for en¬ tering the contest have been pub¬ lished for the past two weeks or an entry blank can be secured from the Prince and Princess Contest Commiteo. Deadline for entries is Tuesday, May 19.
Several out-of-town judges have been procured and they will judge the costumes that evening. However, the winners will not be publicized until the night of the Youth Parade, Friday, June 5.
The seven beauties, chosen last week lo be candidates for Harvard's Milk Day Queen, will be among the models participating in the Style Show. The latest in 'fashions for fun, sun, and glamor will be shown by the following local stores: Aldens Continued on Page Two MILK DAY
Jr-Sr Prom May 8
The Jr. Sr. Prom will be held at Villia Olivia Country Club on Route 20 East of Elgin May 8, 1970. Prom 9:00 P.M. - 1:00 A.M. Post Prom 2:00 A.M.  - ^.00 A.M.
Prom tickfl.': will be sold at the door the night of the prom. Prom is open to all alumni of Huntley High School and their friends.
Post-Proiii will be held at the Huntley Lepion Home.
Freshman Registration At HHS
Registration at Huntley Bdgh School is enteriiut JL, o%v P<VM^ Last JWday, Moi^TAnd Tuesday, forms were distributed to all of next year's High School Students. On these forms the students will write down their course choices fon, next year. Along with tho forms, course descriptions were handed out so that students will have an idea of what is available. Parent's signatures are also re¬ quired on these forms so that every one will have an opportunity to know what is being done at the high school, and plans for the fu¬ ture will be made wisely.
Next year scheduling will be done by the administration and the Guidance Department, and students will receive their schedules in Aug ust.
To aid next year's Freshman a meeting will be held Thursday, May 7, from 8 to 9 p.m. in the High School Study HaU for parents of Sth grade students. Reg istration problems will be solved at this time as well as filling out four year plans.
If you have question, please come to the meeting or call Mr. Polep at the High  School.
Miss Huntley Contest
Entry blanks for the Miss Hunt ley contest sponsored by the Hunt¬ ley Lions Club may be picked up at the Huntley High School office by any Junior or Senior Girl or graduate. The winner of the con¬ test will participate in the Miss McHenry County Contest at the fair and could possibly gain the title of Miss IHinois or Miss America.
The deadline to fill out the entry blanks is May Sth.
Grade School Concert
On Friday evening. May 15, 1970 at 8:00 P.M. in the grade school gym the kindergarten through Sth grade students will present a spring concert. This concert is sponsored by the Music Boosters organization. The students in grades K through Gth will sing and the Junior High Chorus will be featured on the program representing the 7th and Sth  grades.
The fifth grade, sixth grade, and Junior High Band will perform.
The theme for this concert -will be "Our Favorite Thing."
There will be an admission charge of 50 cents which will be used for school music projects sup¬ ported by the Music Boosters. There will also be a sale of cook¬ ies. Parents of children in band and chorus will be receiving notices about the sale $o<Hi.
Summer School Starts June Sth
The Huntloy Elementary Schotd is cfferiag c eicafy ekj^aitded Sum¬ mer school program begining June 8 and running thru July 17. Class¬ es will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The students in grades 1-4 will receive instruction in math, read¬ ing, science, general music, and physical education. Students in grades 5-8 will be able to choose five subjects, from math, typing, band, general music, physical edu¬ cation, reading, and science. Science classes will base their study on na¬ ture and conservation. Therefore, the program is primarily enrichment, although remedial help will be pro¬ vided in reading and math as the in¬ dividual case warrants.
The program is being developed and coordinated by elementary prin¬ cipal, James Bankes, and will be directed this summer by Glen De¬ laney. The faculty will include:
Faith Cozad — 1st and 2nd grade reading  and  math.
Barbara Schroeder ^ 1st to 4th grade science and  math.
Don Hick? — 3rd to 8th grade reading.
Don Koehlert — Sth to 8th grade science and math.
Glen Delaney — 1st to Sth grade physical  education.
Mary Hllen Rugg — Sth to 8th grade typing.

School Board Agenda
At the May Ilth Board of Educa¬ tion meeting the following business is scheduled for discussion.
Approving of minutes of April meetings. Approval of bills for pay¬ ment,  and  committee reports.
Also for consideration will be un¬ paid book rental, re-asessment for McHenry County, negative balance in the music activity account, in- service activity for limch room per¬ sonnel, non-resident students, plans for selecting bus driver, staff need for coaches, and approval of teach¬ er contracts.
The Board of Education regular¬ ly meets on the second and fourth Monday at-7:45 in the Board room at the high school.
Annual Village Board Meeting
The annual meeting of the Hunt- icy Village Board was held last Thursday April 30th, 1970 in the board room of the Village Hall, liquor licenses were renewed and other unfinished busirjcss of the fiscal year was concluded. At the meeting, liquor licenses were re¬ newed by the board for: Offie's Tap, Parkside Tap, Towii Tap, Little America, Bowl-Hi Lanes, and the American Legion. The license for Len & Em's Tap was not re¬ newed at this time. It's renewal is contingent on Mr. Ackman's resig¬ nation from the village board. At¬ torney Michael Caldwell informed the board of a state law which pro hibits a tavern owner from ser- ing on a village or town governing body, therefore the board could not renew the license at that time. Following the annual meeting, a joint meeting and hearing was held by the village board and zon¬ ing board to discuss the petition to annex to the village, land lying ANNUAL MEETING

May 29th Last School
One Way Report Cards
Parents opinion on tho High School "One Way Report Card" is solicited by Superintendent LeRoy Marks.
This year a report card is being tested which does not need to be returned to the school. The report is on paper which makes its own carbon. Each grading period the Report page is given to the student to take home. The marks that are accumulat on each card, so that parents receive a report show¬ ing all marks given to date, which they keep, so that he has a perman ent cumulative record for his file.
Mr. Marks stated that he would like to hear from each parent. A written evaluation would be best or a phone call to one of the sec- retarys is possible.
Day
The two remaining emergency day will be used to permit the Scnool Year to end Frid^^>May 2»th. That last school day will be in session long enough to issue re¬ port cards, which will take ap¬ proximately one hour.
Superintendent LeRoy Marks em phasized that the May 29th closing is dependent on the emergency days unused. If there should be a reason for an emergency closing, the last day of school will have to be re¬ scheduled.
Thursday, May 28th, school will also he a shortened day. School will be dismissed at 2:00 P.M.   ..
Music Award Night
The Annual Music Awards Night was held on April 22, 1970 in fhe grade school gym. Awards were given in recognition of each year of service in Band and Chorus. There were also n number of special awards given as follows:
