Water Fights This Sunday
The Huntley Fire Department will again sponsor their annual Water Fights on Sunday, August 24 at 1:00 P.M. Eightteen t» twenty teams are expected to com¬ pete this year, including the team from the Chicago Fire Academy.
Intermission will feature the NFO against the Huntley Lion's Club. Also the Huntley Firemen's wives will be defending their cham pionship against any volunteer challanging ladies. The Huntley Firemen's sons will also challenge any other boys in the age group of about 6 to 12 years old.
There will be free pop for the kids as in past years.
Huntley High Starts Early
High School starting time has been set ahead five minutes. The school will start at 8:25 A.M. and wiU dismiss at 3:35 P.M.
Grade School will continue on the former schedule — 8:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.
Augost 26 will be a shortened day, ttartteg time is 8:30 A.M. Studenib'<llB'be IHsMfised at 12:00 noon. This day will be Kindergar¬ ten "open house."
August 27 will be a full day. First day for kindergarten classes.
Trinity Team Tournament
Trinity Lutheran Church's soft ball team won 1st place in the Northern Division of the Lutheran Soft Ball League by winning against Zion Lutheran of McHenry last Sunday, 18-9.

The 40 et 8 Voiture No 578 of W|cH)Br>ry Ctounty and the La¬ Femme Cabane (the Auxiliary) will install new officers in a joint ceremony at the Huntley Ameri- dan Legion Post on Saturday, August 23 at 8 P.M.
New officers to be installed for the Voiture are: Chef de Garre, Lou Rossberg of Wonder Lake; Chef de Train, Howard PauUin'of Wonder Lake; Commissiere In- tendent, Charles Frisch of Cary; Aumonier, Phillip Bieredeman of Crystal Lake- Guardia La Porte, Bernie Matchen of McHenry; Cor¬ respondent, Harold Vycital of Mc¬ Cullom Lake.

On August 17, John Weltzien, Boy Scout of Troop 167, was in¬ vested as an Eagle Scout. This was the first Eagle Scout from the Huntley Trop since 1937.
The Eagle Award was presented to John By Scoutmaster Wayne Donahue. Committee chairman Al fred Jordi presided over the cere¬ mony. Mr. Walter Massey, repre¬ sentative of the County Council of the American Legriort, also gave John a medal symbolizing a high a(Jaevement in Scouting. Also present at the ceremony were Don Enstrom, McHenry County Ameri¬ can Legion Commander; Vern Lustred, Blackhawk Area Boy ScoutCouncili; Vern Brunschon, Norman Kalsow, Tom Swanson, Local Boy Scout Committeemen.
The program was completed by Warner Kamphausen, Assistant Scoutmaster, who showed movies of the Troop 167 at .their North- woods camp. Refreshments were" .served by Mrs. Kalsow and Mrs. Swanson.

A special meeting of the Town¬ ship of Grafton was hol(^ at the Township Garage on Monday, Aug¬ ust 18. 1969 at 8:00 P.M., for the purpose of considering whether or not to participate in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund and to consider the claims for com¬ pensation for services rendered t:> the township by Herbert Franks, attorney, and Currian Matthews engineer. Also such other business as might lawfully come before the meeting.

A motion waa made by Vemon Brunschon, seconded by Arlene Fetzner to mon late Richu^ Enstrom. No other nominations were made. A motion to close the nominations was made by Howard Ruth. Albert Boncosky seconded the motion. Mr. Enstrom was sworn in as moderator.

Joint Installation Held
Barn Burned on Day Farm
Last Friday, August 15th, the Huntley Firemen were called to the Day farm, east of the Hantley Crystal Lake blacktop on the Al¬ gonquin Road.
Upon arriving at the scene, the flames had consumed the major part of the bam. Firemen con¬ centrated their major efforts on tbe saving of the silo and contain¬ ing the fire to the one structure.
The Hnntley Fire Department was assisted by a Lake in the Hills policeman who was directing traffic.
The fire was started by children playing with matches, a spokeman for the Huntley Fire Department repwted.
Hontley Fire Chief, Jack An¬ dersen was in diarge at the flre.
Teener League Takes FIRST

The Huntley Teen-er League cap tured first place for the second year in a row compiling a record of 10 wins and 1 loss. Huntley went through the season undefea¬ ted before losing the last game of the season 3-2 to Burlington in the league tourney. The season saw many highlights,, but the big one was Darwin CampbeH's No-Hit, No-Run g^ame against Maple Park on July 16. The ten games were won by Mike Zorica, 4; Scott Harm. 3; and Campbell won 2. The other games came on a for¬ feit by Hampshire. In the ten games played, Huntley outscored their opi)Onents 78-25. SCORES
