ILL 10 PAGES MAILED AND DISTRIBUTED WBEKLT • am Regular School Board Meeting The regular meeting of the Hunt¬ ley School Board was held last Monday night in the board room. Mrs. Thrun. Mr. Bein. Miss Macke¬ ben and Mr. Jirik were present. Absent from the meeting were Mr. Stading, Mr'. Bastian, and Dr. Grau. A motion was made by Mr. Bein, seconded by Mrs. Thrun to pay the sum of $88.31 to the Country Mutual Insurance Co. The motion carried 4 yea's no nays. (Mr. Bas¬ tain then entered the meeting). A motion was made by Mrs.. Thrun, seconded by Mr. Bein to approve of the following people to attend junior college under the Junior College Act: Jerome Cham¬ ness, Pamela Staab, Dale Bein, Debra Kimson, Audrey Korwin, Larry Nelson, Patricia Staab, Marcy Swanson and Richard Wascher. The deadline for appli¬ cation for junior college assistance is Aug. 1st. This motion carried B yea's. (Mr. Stading then entered the meeting) A motion was made by Mr. Bastain, seconded by Miss Macke¬ ben to purchase high school band uniforms in the amount of JIBOO for the school yesr 6fr-70. The motion carried 6 yea's. A motion waa made by Mrs. Thrun, seconded by Miss Mackeben to approve of a budget for text books in the sum of $8000 for grade K through 12. The motion carried 6 yea's. A motion was made by Mr. Stading, seconded by Mr. Jirik to approve of the school calendar as presented. The motion carried 5 yea's, 1 maybe. The maybe being cast by Mr. Bastain. A motion was made by Mi'. Bastain. seconded by Mr. Bein to sign a contract with architects West & Seron for future building programs at the rale of 6%.. Tbe motion carried 6 yea's. A motion was made by Mr. Bein A motion was made by Mr. Bein, seconded by Mr. Jirik to approve of a hiring of a custodian helper that is participating in cooperative work training program. The mo¬ tion carried 5 yea's 1 nay, the nay being cast by Miss Mackdien, A motion was made by Mrs. Thrun, seconded by Mr. Bein to approve a contract for Don Koeh¬ ler to teach 6th grade Math and Science for the sum of $7600. The motion carried 6 yea's. A motion was made by Miss Mackeben, seconded by Mrs. Thrun to approve a contract for Steven Polek to teach Chemistry, Physics and Guidance for a sum of $7500. The motion carried 6 yea's. A motion was made by Miss Mackeben, seconded by Mr. Bas¬ tain to approve a contract for Louis DeMolli to teach instrument¬ al music for the sum of $.7300. The motion carried 6 yea's. A motion was made by Mr. Stading, seconded by Mr. Jirik to pay the custodian employees out of the Educational Fund 12 months of the year. The motion carried 5 yea's, 1 pass by Mr.. Bastian. Passengers In the car with Mr. Habbley were Allen Hafferkamp 17. of Rural Route. Huntley, John Spradlin. 17 327 Kathleen, Huntley and Chuck Piske, 18, of 226 E. Main St., Huntley. Mr. Habbley was ticketed for careless driving. The investigating officer was Donald Greene oi Hunt¬ ley Police. Danuige estimates were $800 to the car and $200 damage to the telephone pole. TTie injured were taken to the Woodstock Hos¬ pital. See Picture on Page Eifbt tmmfff^- Cub Scouts On The four dens of Troop 167 of HunUey took a field trip to the Tures Nursery. It was educational, interesting and a good exercise for the Den mothers. We would like to thank John Tures for showing us the different plants, trees and shririt>s in the 350 acre nursrey. A picnic in each den will end up the scouting year.
