Slave Sale Nets Over $700
White Sox Pitcher -with Huntley Team
Parents and friends of Huntley's Little League and .Minor Jjtague baseball teams' enjoyed the annual Little League Banquet, held on Wednesday. October 26th. The speaker of the evening was Bob Locker, pitcher for the Chicago White Sox. The American Legion sponsors the activities of this group of local boj's.
The slaves that were in the sale last Thursday night brought about $600. The average per slave was about $15 about $100 was made on cakes and donatioiid.

Plans Set For Veterans Day
On November 11, which is Vet¬ erans Day the Huntley American Legion and the Legion Auxiliary will conduct observances at 11 a.m. at the LcErion Home. Mem¬ bers of the High School band, Pastor Fredrick Harm, the Legion and Legion Auxiliary and the Boy Scouts will participate in a 'pa¬ rade to commence at the High School. Those participating are ask ed to be at the school at 10 a.m.
At the Legion Home a cere¬ mony will be held and the Boy Scouts will raise the flag. The Legion urges everyone to fly their flag on Veterans Day to honor those who fought in all our coun¬ try's wars.

A Circuit nine Walther League Rally will be held at Trinity Lu¬ theran Church, Huntley, Sunday November 6. The TriniV Walther League will be hosts for the day. Janet Drafall, president of the so¬ ciety, is working with a number

Guest Speaker for the day will be Bob Hale, former disc jockey on W.L.S. "Silver Dollar Survey", now engaged by W.M.A.Q. and T.V. channel 26 in Chicago. Later in the day the young people will view the film, "Martin Luther" which was so well received when it made its round of local theaters some years ago.
Circuit nine Walther League so¬ cieties include young people from congregations at Union, Woodstock Crystal Lake, McHenry, Marengo, Harvard and Huntley. Registration wlft begin at f:0fl p.m. vrith a regis¬ tration fee of $1.50 which includes cost of the supper.
Township Injoined
A temporation injuction was granted in the Circuit Court room, Judge William M. CarrolL-"resid- ing, on Wednesday, NovA) sr 2, against the Township of X^lifton and the individual offipiers thereirf: Mowitd" Ttoth, Supervisor;" RiCfP " ard Enstrom, Town Clerk; Floyd R. Schmuck, Herbert Eg«fci and Harold Keck, Auditors of ^ town ship, to prohibit any further special township meetings on Bill 1473 until thq matter of its legal¬ ity and constitutionality can be decided.
Attorney James Green, attorney for the plantiffs: William and Ber¬ nice Russell, Mrs. Leona Nelson and Mrs. Carol Marsh, said that he had received notice today. Wed nesday November 2, that the city of Crystal Lake intended to pre- ¦ seht a motion to intervene and enter into the lawsuit as parties to the plaintiff, to question the
constitutionality of Bill 1473.
A hearing was to have been held tonight. November 3, at the Grafton Township Garage at which time the electors would have voted to decide whether or not the board of local improve¬ ments should continue with the work begun on the roads in tlw tri-subdivision area. This meeting has been indeflitately postponed until the case has been decided.
The attorneys for Grafton Township in this matter are Herb ert Franks and Robert Canfield.

Legion Hallon^een Dance Winners
The Huntley American Legion held their annual Hallowe'en cos¬ tume dance last Saturday night, October 29. Although the number of people in costume was fewer than in years psist the quality was not lacking and the judge's decision was extremely difficult.
Winners of the prizes for cos¬ tumes were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hughes as hoboes, to Miss Iris Smith of Elgin (2nd) prize, she was dressed as an old woman in 'clothes of the 1880 era, with spectacles and powered hair. Char¬ les Clark received (3rd) prize alao,
as a hobo.
The music for the dance was pro¬ vided by the Esquires of Wood¬ stock. The next event at the Legion will be the feather party on Satur¬ day, November 12 at 8 p.m. A free lunch will be provided.

An open house and reception for Rev. and Mrs. Frank will be held following the Installation Service.
All members and friends of ihe lo¬ cal church, former resident mem¬ bers and friends and others inter¬ ested are invited to attend the ser¬ vices.
The new pastor was born in Lake City, Iowa, the son of C^rl and Janna Frank, who farmed near Carnarvon. Iowa. After graduation from the Lake View High School he farmed for two years. In 1958 he entered Buena Vista College at Storm Lake, Iowa. He married Car¬ ol Jane Kubasiewitz in Rochester, New York in July of 1961. In Jan- uaiy of 1962, having completed col¬ lege they moved to Has'ings Ne¬ braska, where Mr. Frank sold in surance for two years while takint; extra credit from the Univeisity of Nebraska.
In Sept. of 1963 the Franks accept¬ ed a call to the United Church of Christ, at Atkinson. Illinois. and Robt also entered the Theological Seminary. University of Dubuque, at Dubuque, Iowa. On Mav 29, I960 CONTINUED ON PAGE THREE
Fire Call Monday
The Huntley Fire Department >-e- sponded to a call to extinguish a roof fire in the family room and kitchen of the Quin O'Brien resi¬ dence. 31 Grove Street, at approxi¬ mately 2 p.m. Monday afternoon. The firemen used two trucks and the tanker, hooking up one fire truck to the hydrant at the corner of Mill and Grove Streets and the other working off its own water sup¬ ply.
The men cut holes in the roof and completly extinguished the fire in less than one hour's time. Damage in the two rooms was extensive.
