ChUmtOn Main Street
Tina Meadows, 6, daughter of Mra. Dorothy Meadows, 41 Main Street, in Huntley, was struck by an automobile Sunday evening while crossing the street from the carnival to her home. The child received lacerations on her fore¬ head, which, according to Police Chief Nelson, bled quite a lot at the scene of the accident. She also suffered a partially broken bone in her ankle and will be bedridden for a couple of weeks. The ehild was taken to the Woodstock hos¬ pital by the James A. O'Connor Ambulance service. She was re¬ leased after treatment to her in¬ juries.
Judith A. Kaulfuss, 492 E. Chicago Street, Elgin ,the driver of tHe automibile was ticketed un¬ der the village ordinance for care¬ less drtving.

Don Enstrom of the American brought a radio to the shelter area and remained upstairs on watch. A "tent" with a mattress was set up for smaller children to protect them from the poasiblity of flying gla.ss.
SSome people travelling through town stopped at the Legion Home seeking shelter. Mr. Enstrom com¬ mented that if the Legion Home were to be used as a shcker, they would have to clean up the base¬ ment.
Attempted Break'ln
An  attempted     break-in     took
place at the Freund Implement Co., located on Route 47 and Main Street at 12:30 ».m. Sunday, June 11. The would.be intruders broke a window in the door ,on the Main Street side of the buildings. The breaking of the window was heard by a near-by resident and reported to tie police. No arrests were made but Huntley police are working on several leads.

liie Huntley club has served this dinner en Fatlier's Day each year for several years. Originally it was an out-door e\ent, but weather con¬ ditions were not always favorable and the fir.' station has proved more sutibable.
Accident At Main & Churck
The Huntley police reported that an accident occured Sunday evening in front of the United Church of Christ on Main Street. Mrs. Rakestraw, an emi^oyee of the State Bank of Huntley, was starting to turn into the driveway of the church property when Ixw car wax «twwlt %. ooe drtwe ty Barbara Danmeyer, alao <^ Hant¬ ley. Chief Nelson repcHied tiutt Mrs. Rakestraw said she had pull¬ ed to the right of the street in w- der to turn into the United Church of Christ driveway not to tie up traffic. She said she did not see the Dammeyer car and when she did, she stepped on the accelera¬ tor instead of the brake. Nelson reported. Property damage was all that was reported.
Lions Club New Officers
New members were received and officers installed at the Huntley Lions Club dinned and guest night held at 1^ Embers east of Elgin on Saturday, June 10.
Following the chickefti and roast beef dinner the retiring pres¬ ident, Wayne Miller, Introduced Zone Chairman of District 1-J Mr. Richard "Dick" Kirchoff, yiho con¬ ducted the installation ceremonies.
Now membera who have Joined the local Lions Club during the past year include: Clarence Hart¬ man, Midhael Zorica, Arthur Wicke Rev. R. L. Frank, Elden Pfialf, Gene Lindsey, Mel Bweit, Wm. Kuestner, Harold Hansen, Gene Hardy and Roger Cole.
The officers who will serve in the coming year are: President, Carl Runge; 1st Vice Pres., Char¬ les Lamb; 2nd Vice Pres., Thomas Kelly; 3rd VIi<<e Pres., 'WTlmer Rohlwing; Sec.Treas., Helm Thu¬ row; Lion Tamer, Clarence Hart¬ man; Tail Twister, Elden Pfaff; Directors, Anxdd Chesak, Howard Ruth, Melvin Johnson and Doo McCullom.
Following the installation cere, monies the entire group enjoyed tlie entertainment by Dave Majors and the Minors, a group of young Elgin college students who have been appearing recently at this popular eating place.
