The new teachers will be intro¬ duced. President of the Board of Education Wayne Zimmerman will report on the progress of the new building and other matters of in¬ terest will be on the program. A social hour with coffee wil follow the business meeting. The public is invited to attend. Policenkan Netvnkan Resigns Fire Cat! The Huntley Fire Department was called to extinguish a grass fire at Union Special Machine Co. Monday moming. In the afternoon they were called to the Harry Tin¬ berg farm on Algonquin Road where a grass fire threatened to get out of hand. In both instances they were able to extinguish the the fire. The band will be the 'Star Notes." Sgt. Ralph Newman of the Huntley Police Department has accepted the position of Chief of Police in Hsmpshire, Illinois, starting today, September 15. Sgt. Music Boosters Meeting Report The first regular meeting of the Huntley Music Boosters for the 1966-67 school year was held at the school on Monday evening. Mr. Tirk, band director, reviewed the summer activities of the band, which included appearances at Harvard Milk Days, Legion Car¬ nival and Lions Bar-B-Q. New officers of the Boosters arc Peg Schultz, president; Shel¬ by Hill, vice-president; Caroline Schactner, secretary; and Ollie Kuestner, treasurer. Committees appointed included Fund Raising, Lois Hammond and Peg Schultz; Concert Committee, Joan Molitor and Shelby Hill; Refreshments Ron Jirik; and Publicity - Marcei¬ la Aulik and Elaine Kelly. The group voted funds to pur¬ chase a cabinet for the choral de¬ partment for the new robes. Diane Downen, Jeff Aulik and Paul Yurs b,and members, model¬ ed the new uniforms which were purchased during the summer. Mrs. Johnson and Mr. Tirk stated that mnsic students are available for any organization desiring mu¬ sical entertainment. The next meeting of the Board will be September 26 at 7:30. All ex-officers, new officers and com¬ mittee heads are urged to attend; and any interested music parents are welcome. Fartn Bureau Election of nine directors and adoption of policy resolutions to guide Farm Bureau in the year ahead are among main items in the agenda at the McHenry County Farm Bureau's annual meeting on September 22. Featured speaker at the annual meeting, set for 7:00 p.m., will be Earl M. Hughes, prominent Wood¬ stock area farmer and former lAA director who headed a "People-to- People" trip to South America early this year. About 30 county people were in the gronp that saw agriculture south of the border. Hughes has a grain and livestock farm in Hartland township. The annual meeting opens with a roast beef dinner.
