Prom Royalty
The annual high school Junior- Senior Prom was held at the school gymnasium on Saturday evening, May 13.
The gymnasium was decorated with blue and white streamers. The theme of the prom was "A Tahitian Paradise." At one end of the gym. a waterfall, with real water was used to accent ' the theme of the dance. The refresh¬ ments were served from a little grass shack.

Farmside Buys Press
The Huntley Farmside has pur¬ chased a Duplex newspaper print¬ ing press. This press works off a roll of paper and will print an entire newspaper in one operation, folding the pages as well as print¬ ing it.
The pressis capable of printing a full sixe newspaper as well as a tabloid. The Farmside will contin¬ ue tdbloid size.
Because of the dimensions of the fold the Farmside will change from, a 17" x 12" to a 16" x 11 V«" size page. Due to this change the column size will change from 12 picas to 11 picas or from 2 inches to 1 5/6 inches.

Guest Minister At UCC Church
The Rev. James D. Stinehelfer, DeKalb, Minister of the Northern Association, United Church of Christ, and Associate Minister, Illinois Con¬ ference United Church of Christ will be guest speaker at the 10;45 a.m. wor^ip service of the United Church of Christ in Huntley next Sunday, May 21.
Rev. Stinehelfer has been the Min¬ ister! of the Northern Association and Associate Minister of the Illinois Conference for the last three years. In March <^ tiiis year he announced CONTINUED ON PAOE FOUR
Jackie Howard. Members of their court were Donna Schultze, Lon¬ nie Millerman, Faye Marlowe, Gary Bakley, Vicki Rizzo and Fritz Harm.
Following the prom the students were invited to attend a post-prom party put on by the parents of the juniors and seniors. Thia par¬ ty was for the students only. Par¬ ents were not invited unless they had a specific part to play.

Grafton Twp. Board Meeting
At the Grafton Township meet¬ ing, held May llth, Supervisor Howard Ruth read the letter of resignation from Herbert Eggers. The resignation was accepted. Jim Schultz of Huntley was appointed to fill out his term on a motion made by Keck and seconded by Smuck. Motion carried unanimous¬ ly. Mr. Schultz was seated. This action occured after the meeting was opened by Supervisor Ruth and the minutes had been read by Mr. Enstrom and approved by the Auditors.

Village Inn Grand Opening

Fire Call Sunday
Members of the Huntley Volun¬ teer Fire Department responded to a call last Sunday at the Yurs farm west of town. The farm has recently been sold and a portion of the bam was being torn down. Sparks from a rubbish fire ignited that portion of the barn.
The firemen were able to ex¬ tinguish the blaze. No estimate of the damage has been reported.
Dedicate New Medical Center
The Edwin F. Deicke Medical Education Center at Memorial Hospital of DuPage located in Elmhurst, was dedicated m cere¬ monies held there on Sunday, May, 7. This newest facility of the hos¬ pital was donated by Mr. Deicke, who also contributed $36,000. for the purchase of the land which is now the Edwin P. Deicke Park in Donahue's Woods at Huntley.
The Men's Fellowship of the Church will again sponsor a Mother-Daughter Banquet on Sat¬ urday, May 20th. Tickets are av- uilable from any memi>er of the Men's FeUowship.
Poppy Day Proclamation
WHEREAS, The American Le¬ gion and The American Legion Auxiliary have for many years en¬ gaged in the rendition of benevo¬ lent services to Disabled Veterans and their families and have taken an active part in charitable work within the community; and
WHEREAS, The American Le¬ gion and The American Legion Auxiliary hold an Annual Poppy Day on which poppies made by Dis abled Veterans in Illinois Hospit¬ als are dispensed publicly for the purfiose of raising funds with which to carry on their great work; and
WHEREAS, Friday and Satur¬ day May 26 and 27, 1967 has been selected as Poppy Day for the year of 1967.
NOW THEREFORE, I Wilpault NBrill Mayor of the City of Hunt¬ ley, Illinois, do hereby proclaim Poppy Day May 26 and 27, 1967, as Poppy Day of the American Legion 673 Post of THE AMERI¬ CAN LEGION, together with its Auxiliary, and request all citizens to observe this day by wearing a Poppy and making an appropriate contribution for this worthy cause.
Poppy Day will be at school on Thursday, May 25th..

Police Report
At approximately 11:40 p.m. on May 11, Mrs. Irvin Manke report¬ ed to Huntley police sergeant Al Schuld that two men were taking a truck which belonged to the E. M. Melahan Construction Co. of Algonquin, which was parked near the bridge being re-constructed near her home. The men drove east on county line road. Sgt. Schuld apprehended the men and took them to the Huntley police station, where he then called Kane County Sheriffs Dept., since coun¬ ty line road is In Kane County.
The men were identified as Virgil Birch, Jr. of 7615 Pleasant Road, Wonder Lake. He has been in trouble before for the same type of thing; and Wm. Kendrlck, 418 Briar Ct., Island Lake, who also has been reported in trouble previously.
The men were dismissed by Kane County authorities when the E. M. Melahan Construction Co. refused to sign a complaint ag¬ ainst them.
Junior - Senior Banquet
The annual Junior-Senior ban¬ quet was held at the Trinity Lu¬ theran Church last Thurs., May 11. This banquet is planned by the members of the junior class for the graduating seniors.
Following a delicious turkey dinner Stanley Hafferkamp, presi¬ dent of the junior class, welcomed the seniors. The welcome was ac¬ knowledged by Faye Marlowe, president of the senior class.
Sandra Meaduows sang a song to the group. Craig Wells gave the Class Prophey and Michael Hughs gave the Class Will.
Miss Huntley in Milk Day
Faye Marlowe, 18 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Marlowe of 47 N. Church St., Huntley, Illinois, is one of seven girls vying for the queen title at the 26th Harvard Milk Day on Saturday, June S. Faye is a senior at Huntley High SchooL She will ride in the big parade down the Milky Way and be part of the conrt at Milk Day grounds Judging. (Montomery photo)
