Fire Call Sat.
Huntley firemen responded to a fire call shortly before 4 O'clock on Saturday afternoon to extmg- uish a blaze in the tenant house owned by Mr. and Mrs. Al Jordi, Jr Mrs. Blair, the occupant of the house. Due to their prompt respon¬ se, the firemen were able to extin¬ guish the blaze quickly and damage was confined to the area of the rear door of the residence.
Police Report
Huntley's Chief of PoUce, Rich¬ ard Nelson, reported on Monday that sometime Sunday two Stop Signs were damaged. One sign lo¬ cated at the intersection of Mill and Grove Streets vras bent over, the other, on the gravel road run¬ ning past the cemetery at the In¬ tersection with S. Dean Street, was flattened and vrfll have to be replaced according to Street Supt. Percy Swanaon.
Music Boosters
The first general meeting of the Music Boosters was held in the cafeteria, Monday, Sept 11. Nevvly elected officers are: Mr. R. Jirik, President; Mrs. D. McCullom, Vice-President; Mrs. P. Isenhart, Treasurer; Mrs. D. Borhart, Sec¬ retary. Our thanks to the <^cers 'of the past year for their fine work.
Mr. Tirk reported on the sul>- stantlal increaae ia band ment with a total ot 1«) in grades 5-12. The diorus under Mrs. Johnson's direction numbers 64.
Tliere is still a need for used in¬ struments and white band pants.
Fund raising activities were dis¬ cussed; the first project being a Music Booster "Surprise Auction" to be held Sunday, October 15 at 1:30 P.M. Refrestanents vrtll be served by the Music Boosters, with the band and chorus entertaining. All Huntley residents are invited to donate one or more "White elephant" articles to help make this a success. Please contact Mrs. C. Hill e69-590f7 if you wrish to con¬ tribute items, other than clothing of baked goods.

U.C.C. Again Congregational
In a meeting filled with tradition, the members of the United Church of Christ-Congregational, voted un¬ animously to change the name of their church to its former name. The First Congregational Church In an opinion poll taken this spring, the majority of the church members indicated their desire to return to the name used by the church for over one hundred years. Reasons for the name change in¬ cludes: the majority of the church mem¬ bers always refer to themselves as members of the Congregation¬ al Church;
non-members of the local com¬ munity always refer to the church as the Congregational Church:
For purposes of identity in case of future mergers of various churches;
The Congregational Church was the first church established in the local Community. The name change does not affect the local church's standing or re¬ lation with its denominational ties with the United Church of Christ.

Bud Connor Now Instructor of Pilots

HUNTER ARMY AIRFIELD, GEORGIA, 8 September 1967 — Chief Warrant Officers2, Robert E. Connor of Union, Illinois, a grad¬ uate of Huntley High School in 1961 has his new collar insignia inspected by his wife, Carola, after his promotion to CW2.
CW2 Connor is now an Instruct¬ or-Pilot in the Hueycobra transit¬ ion program at the United States Army Aviation School Element, Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Air¬ field Flight Training Center. He returned in June of this year from Vietnam where he had been an Army helicopter pilot with the 120 Aviation Company.
CW2 Connor has been decorated wdth the EHstinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with 15 Oak Leaf Clusters, the PuiTfrfe Heart, the Good Conduct Medal, the Nat¬ ional Defense and the Vietnam Service Medals.

Sept. Village Board Meeting
AU members of the village board were present at the September meeting, held on Thursday, Sept¬ ember 7. Following the reading of the minutes, the acceptance of the Treasurer's report and payment of bills the board heard a report from Police Chief Rkhard Nelson. He staged. that he had attended file mayor aad police chiefs meet¬ ing in Crystal Lake at which the topic of discussion was what should l>e done about crowd con. trol in McHenry County.
Harvard, he went on to say, has abont 26 men in training, Algon¬ quin has 0 men. He commented that each community had a differ¬ ent idea as to how crowds should be controlled in case a situation ever occurs. The thought behind the training of these men is that they will be ready and available in the event of a riot or other dis¬ turbance involving a number of people should erupt. Mr. George Hammond was pres¬ ent at fhe meeting and presented a bill to the Village for running the sewer to his property. The board, on instructions by the vil. lege attorney, stated they eonld not pay this as it is the landowner's responsiUlity. It was also explain¬ ed to Mr. Hammond that thei« is a $60.00 charge for tapping a water main and a $10.00 charge for tapping a sewer. Mr. Ham¬ mond then asked if he might lease a couple of feet on the north and ' the south sides of his building to place a step. The building fronts on both Main and Coral Streets. Village Attorney Cowlin advised that this could not be done, ail the village would be liable if anyone were to injure themselves on the steps and added that the riOage board could not lease pi^lic right- of-way.
Mr. Fessler, president of Pat and Tiny's Inn, Inc. was present at the meeting. At the August Srd meeting of the village board Mr. Fessler was called in for failure to comply with the residential re- ouirement of t^ liquor ordinance. At tha^ time he hifonned the board found that Mr. Wirsing was not the managfor and closed the tavern that midnight. On Satur¬ day, August 5th at a special meet¬ ing of the village board Mr. Fes¬ sler was permitted to reopen after signing an agreement that he would sell the business in 30 days.
