School Board Meeting
Ti» first of the bi-mwithly meet¬ ing of the Huntler Sdiool Board ¦was held on Wednesday, April 10, in the i>oard room of the Hantley high school. All menAers were present with the exception of Dr. Gary Gran.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read «nd approved, and bills ordo:^ paid.
$169.74 was transfered from the Edtacation fund to the Revolving Fnnd on a mation by Mr. Stading. seconded by Miss Maclceben.
A motion by Mr. Stading, sec¬ onded by Miss Mackeben to pay Mr. Bairy for transportation two trips per day to Barrington was approved. The vote was 5 ayes, 1 no, the i^pitive vote being cast by Mrs. Thnin.
Mrs. Leona Bundgard, secretary of the higfa school was present at the meeting. She reqoested that a new high school secretary be hired fnll time and that she be hir¬ ed as a part time secretary three days a week- Mr. Bernard Shott was present at the meetii\g. Mr. Murphy, the principle of the grade school, told Mr. Shott that Mr. Trumbo was in the gym. He said that on that particular day the ehildren were playing a game call¬ ed "Muder baH", a game he added whidi is played with a i>asketball. He said Uiat he had talked to Mr. Trumbo and that the teacher had told faim that the boy had complain ed of hil arm. It was brought out that usually parents were caQed, even if they are at wtfk, when diildren are in jured, and that if a child is sent home, the school calls to see if he arrives safely.
Mr. Murphy stated Oat the m- jnry was deceiving to both him and Mr. Trumbo. He went on to say tbat if the child had been Sth grade age or yoimger, that he would not have permitted the boy to walk home.

Three Huntley High Scfaod Latin students won District honors accord¬ ing to results received last week. Robert Wicke. Dale Heilmuth, and Gary Downen eadi received an "Ex¬ ceUent" rating in the distrid in whidi they p«tartic^ted m tiie Ai>- nual State Latin Tournament. Tliis toumament is sponsored yearly by the IBinois Classical Coafereiice. Each schoca in tfae state is allowed to send three participants from each year of Latin offered.
