Patrolman Gene Newmann of the police force summwied the McHen¬ ry County Sheriffs department for assistance. The Sheriff's depart¬ ment and the State Police squad car responded to the caU. Upon aiTiving at the scene Patrol¬ man NewTnann found a group of un¬ ruly people from out of town shout¬ ing aad hollering at each otfaer With the assistance of tlie other two departments Patrolman Newmann suppressed the disturbance and tfae crowd was di^)ersed. Joint Choir ^ C(mcertDec.lO The annual Christmas concert at the First Congregational Church in Huntley was presented by the com¬ bined choirs and bell c'noirs on Sun¬ day evening, December 10, A record crowd was in attendance. The Ch^el Bell Choir played the Prelude on the Whitechapel Hand¬ bells. The audience and the choirs sang two verses of "Angels Fro.m the Realms of Glory" as the 13 1st, 2nd. and 3rd grade children who comprise tfae Carol Choir proceeded to their places on the risers at tfae front of the santuary They then sang "O Come Little Ciiildren" and "Little Children Can You Tell." The Chancel Bell Choir, composed of high scfaool and adult members played "Little Town of Bethlehem" and "Hark tfae Herald Angels Sing." The Crusader Choir, composed of children in the 4th and 5th grades, nder the direction of Mary Kerrick and Marily Berghorn, sang "Go Tell It On tile Mountain" and "Angelos We Have Heard on High." Although illnes prevented the at¬ tendance of about one-half of the members of Chapel Choir which is directed by Mrs. Carl HUl, the seven girls who were able to come carried on in an excellent presents tion of "Child In The Manger." The 20-voice Chancel Choir then took their places as the audienc(> again sang a Christmas Carol "A.s With Gladness." Their i!uml)ers in¬ cluded "Joyous Christmas Song.' "Jesus Holy Child," with Mrs. Gene Jones as soloLst. "On Christmas Day." "Mary Had .t Biiby". soloist Mary KeiTick, "While Angels Sing," and the ever-loved "Sing Gloria." Kelly ha.s announced that The Devilaires, a rifle drill team consisting of ¦•\:\& 10 to 17 years of age, will perform at the halftime varsity intermission of the Huntley ¦ Kirkland Hiawatha bas ketball game here on Friday, Dec¬ ember 15. The group is sponsored by the Lions Club and VFW of McHemy and the American Legion and Founders Day Committee of Algon¬ quin, and is directed by Dr. Rob¬ ert. Riley of McHenry. The girls have requested this op¬ portunity to appear at Huntley a*-; they originally wero scheduled to march in the Huntley Veteran's Day Parade November 11, and were re¬ quired to withdraw when ono of their spor.soring organizations made a conflicting commitment for them. The Junior and Senior High pro¬ gram will he presented on Thurs¬ day, December 14- at 8:C0 p.m. di¬ rected by Mrs. Bernard Johnson. The Elementary program, directed by Mr. Rol>ert Tirk. will be pre sented on Monday, December 18, at 8:C0 p.:m. For the program on Thursday of this week the Junior Hi Chorus wil! open with "Mistletoe," "Little Lord," 'Winter Song", 'The Sleight", "0 Bambino", and "Drummer Boy;" The accompanists wil] be Ann Michelsen and Mary Schiescher. The Senior High Chorus will open theri part of the program with I^- Roy Anderson's 'Sleitth Ride", fol- lowede by the "Calypso Noel", "Tho Gift of Love", "There Shall Star from Jacob", and "Sign of a Merry Christmas." The Girls Chorus will prestmt two numbers from Tschaikovsky's "Nut¬ cracker Suite," "Trepak" and "Danee of the Sugar Plums." Two Girls Octettes will be fea¬ tured with 'Holly JoUy Christmas" and "I Heard the Bells." Solrtsts will be Linda Susong, Tim Kelly, Sue Jirik, Debbie Eckman, Sandi MeadowS, and John Weltzien.
