Board Hold lointMeeting
A joint meeting of the Huntley Park Board and the Huntley Con- solidatied School Board was held last Thursday evening. Oct. 28. in the school cafeteria. Members of the School 1**»^ present were: Stading, Gruner, BHlDb, and Zim merman. Those from the Park Board were: Kiley. Wassei-stra.s.s. tesendorf. Piske and Deicke. Mr. David Rudy from the Huntley Vil¬ lage Board was also present, as was Mr. Thomas Kelly, supciinten- dent of the schools.
The meeting of these boards was called t try lo resolve a difference in opinion ovei the location of a new school building and 3.6 acres of park aind. The school board whishes to build the building front¬ ing on Mill Street with the front door of the school facink the dead end  of  Lincoln   Stree.
The Park Board, on the other hand, wishes the school to shift tbeir plans so that an e.ttension of Lincoln Stret can serve as an en¬ trance into the park. It wajkx plafaed by the school boar^V>a> the new school will extend onto the M acres now owned by the school. It was brougiHt out thai the $1.5.000. used to purchas^iis 26 acres was taken from the ^^/fi- ing Fund and that only from « to 12 acres would he suitable for building.
The School Board stated that their plans sliowcd a parking lot to the west of the school building. It was sta(ed that plans had been made for new .'•chool building since April of 1964 and that the Park Board could use an entrance off Route 47 or iXM-hai)s east of the new school off Mill Street. The Park Board stated that perhaps in the future there would be a fence surrounding the park with several entrances but it probably would be quite difficult to get an entrance to the park off Route 47, as it is a state road and the state permits as few entrances off a state high¬ way as possible. This brought up the discussion of the extension of MUl Street from Bftute 47, past Lincoln and the Be*r school build¬ ing to Sun.set Etflve. This street Ls CONTNUED ON PAGE FIVE

Dad*s Honored At Final Gatne
Friday. Nov 5. 1965 Huntley High School will play its last fool- ball game of the season against Ilampshii-c at Huntley at 8:00 p.m.
The last home fotball game is always designated as "Dad's Night" and all fathers of this year's football team are invited and will be honored that evening. Dads will be introduced and given special recognition at half-time Friday evenmg.

Huntley Legion Post 67.3 receiv¬ ed a Child Welfare award from national Headquarters. This award is given for money spent end all children program in our area. This includes littk- League, school awards, Sor of the Legion. Boy's State and many others.
On Monday, Nov. 8, at 8:00 pjn. The Legion & AuxUiary will hold a joint meeting of the subject will be Veterans Affairs. Merle Harri¬ son will be our guest speaker. Merle is Supervisor of Illinois Vet¬ erans Commission, llth District Rehabilitation and Service Officer, and Comander of Harvard Post No. 5 of Joliet. Veterans and Vet¬ erans widwvs and anybod>' inter¬ ested is invitee' to attend.
Legion Dance
The HunUey American Legion held their annual Hallowe'en Dance and costum party last Sat¬ urday evemng, Oct. 30, at the Legion Hall.
Residents from Elgin, Dundee. Crystal Lake and other surround¬ ing conuQunities as well as looal Huntley people attended this par¬ ty. This year there were fewer cos¬ tumes present than in years past althou^ the judges found it diffi¬ cult to choose as the quality of some of the costumes was excel¬ lent..
One group come dressed as "The Adams Family" hav-ing the T V family of Gomez, Mortlcia, Pugs- ley, Wednesday, Uncle Fester and Cousin It. The mwic was provided for the dance 1^ the Harry Linder¬ man orchesti*a, and eveione had a good time. The next <dance will be New Year's Eve.   *

Last week Dale Bein, Lonnie Millermon, Chuck Ruth, Bill See¬ mann, and Paul Yurs attended a fat stock judging contest at Kane¬ land. This contest included judg¬ ing of sheep, swine, and sters Al¬ though Huntley did nol place in the top 10 Lonnie Millermon re¬ ceived seventh indivdual in the contest.
Also don't forget the FFA Slave Sale t<Hilght—^Thursday, Novemebr 4. A cake sale will follow the re¬ freshments. The auctioneer is Howard Ruth and there's over 30 slaves to be sold and-they're ready to go to work so don't forget to come.
Lions Cluh Spooh Party
The Huntley Lions Club held their annual Children's Hallo¬ we'en Party for the children of pre-school age through junior high school at the HunUey Consolidated School last Saturday evening.
Besides the Lion's traditional awards for Ist, 2nd, and Srd place costumes, each child received a participation prise for coming to the party in costume.
Following the costume judging refreshments were served in the school cafeteria. Pictured through¬ out the paper are the winning cos¬ tumes at the variotis age levels.
