Information About School
Monday, August 30, 1965 will begin another scliool year for al! Huntley Consolidated School Dis¬ trict's Elementary and High School students. School will be in operation one half day (8:50-12:00 Noon) on the first day as usual and lunch will not be served on Monday.
Scrool sessions will follow the same time schedule as in previous years with the daily session begin¬ ning at 8:30 a.m. and dismissing at 3:30 p.m. for all students, with the exception of Kindergarten stu¬ dents whose schedule will appear later in this article.
The teachers and administration wish to welcome back all former students and extend a warm wel¬ come to all students new to our school system. I hope that we con¬ tinue to have your support and co¬ operation again this year as we have in the past as your child jour¬ neys through a new school Y«'ar. County Legion Installation
Huntley joint meeting of mchen- ry County Council American Leg¬ ion and Auxiliary was hold at Al¬ gonquin American legion Home on Saturday, Aug. 14th. About 1.50 members were in attendance. Mrs. May Chosak llth District Director of HunUey was installing Officer for the Auxiliary assisted by Shir¬ ley Peter, daughter in law of the President elect. Marion Peter was Sgt. at Arms. Edna Pfalum first president of the Algonquin Unit was chaplain.
Installed were Marion Peter, President of Algonquin, Marge Al¬ vis. Crystal Lake, 1st Vice Presi¬ dent; Mary Kuckcr of Hebron 2nd Vice President; Carol Murray of Algonquin, Secretary; Faye Carl¬ son. Algonquin, Treasurer: Mabel Schultz. Huntley Historian; Ruth Mrachek, McHenry, Chaplain.
A gift was made to the president for a 100 i)er cent membership in the Algonquin unit.
Robert Duff, Harvard Past 2nd Division Comander was installing officer for the legion. Evert Qiclt- son, Sr. Vice Commander of Har¬ vard was Sgt. at Arms. Harold Mi- olke of Fox River Grove was Chap¬ lain.

Bob Eckman, Huntley, sang "This Is My Countiy" a favorite of Marion Peter. A buffet supper was served by tho Algonquin arxl C-ary Units.

Roof Fire At Bilsborough - Sunday
The Huntley Fire Department was called to the Dwayne Bilsborough residence on Mill Street last Sunday, August 15, at approximately 4 p.m.
The fire was confined to the roof of the structure as can be seen in the picture above where firemen ar shown exting^uishing the smould¬ ering timbers and spraying down the roof. Fire Chief "Jack" Anderson can be seen directing operations from the ground. The firemen used a hook ladder on the roof to assist them in extinguishing the fire.
The cause of the blaze was listed as sparks from a rubbish fire along the Chicago Northwestern railroad tracks adjacent to the Bilsborough property.
Huntley Harvesters - Best 4-H Club Entry

News From School Board
The regular meeting of the Boa¬ rd of Ed. was held August 10. 196.5 at 7:30 PM. with member George Adams absent.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved
A motion made and approved to purchase additional bleachers for the football field.
After a discussion it was de¬ cided to compensate Audrey Kor¬ win for servces rendered on the health pix)gram for the past year,
and to set a rate of compensat¬ ion for the present school jear.
The regular monthly bills were read and discussed and approved for payment.
It was also decided to purchase two new basketball back stops for the High School Gym.
Mr. Chuck Bradley was present to bring the Brd of Ed. up to date on drawings and plans for the new building.
