On the night of Sat¬ arday, November 11, Stading was returning to Huntley from Carpentersville on the blacktop when a 6-point buck deer jumpel out in front of his car. The deer was killed instantly and Stading's car received damage to the left front fender, headlight hood and grUIe. The animal was turned over to, James Varva, game warden, who disposed of It. According to Stading had the animal not been mangled It would bave been turned over to a charitable institution. Fire Call On Albrechts Farm The Huntley Fire Department re¬ sponded to a call from tlie Herman Albrecht farm on Monday morning at 7:20. The fire was in the up¬ stairs of the old Albrecht home lo¬ cated on the west side of Albrfcht Road. .^ family had just moved into the house last Saturday. Il wa.s re¬ ported that children were playing with fire which ignited a mattress 'and part of the upstairs floor. Huntley firemen repcirted that very little water was used lo ex¬ tinguish the fire. Legion Held Feather Party The Feather Party and Bazaar of the Anierican Legion and Legion Auxiliary was a success. Many Door awcu^ were given as well as turkeys and geese. Don Enstrom received the grocery box. Else Ack man the Past Presidents basket, Sarah Koch the Junior prize, a center peice. Many more prisze were given awag. A buffett lunch¬ eon was served. See picture page six Meeting Lions Club by C. Lamb. The regular meetir>g of the Hunt ley Lions Club held Nov. 14. A del icious dinner was served. Special guests were Lion R. Kirchoff, Zone Chairman, and Mr. Walter Bauer. Plant St^t of Union Special Mach¬ ine Co. of Stuttgard, Germany. Lion C. Lamb presented his special guest Mr. R. Nelson, Huntley Pol¬ ice Chief. Ljon Kirchoff presented a very worthwhile narrated film on Lion Membership. In business session, it was appro¬ ved to donate $25.00 to the Black¬ hawk Council of the Boy Scouts. Christmas party was discussed Christmas tree comwuttee gave its Teport. Fruit Cakes were distribut¬ ed. Anyone desiring more may contact Lion Chesak. Lion Pfaff was present and pre¬ sented himself in the usual fine manner. In Executive session the follow¬ ing were taken as new members: Mr. P. Freund, local implement dealer; Mr. Wm. Buck, local drug- gest; and Mr. R.
