Lions Hallo-ween Party
Concert Here
On Nov. IT and 18, the Coral departments of the 9 ]^^\\''- high schools in McHenry i^^ tJ''^^^ '"'" annual Festival of (Toi-ir Music. Designed to increase the music *"" sTTiTls of the indiv-idual participants, 1o acquaint both directors and students with the woi-^^^'vid acc¬ umulated experience of"-, 'emmin- ont authority in the field of choral music, and to provide a cultural experience of a high onJSfv'.'or both participants and the public, the McHenry County Choral Festixal will include more then 400 partic¬ ipants from Crystal Lake, Mc¬ Henry. Woodstock. Harvard. Ad- d<'n-Hchn)n, Huntley, Richmond- Burton, and Marengo.
The Festival will lx> hold at fhe Huntley Consolidated Schools Gym nasium. Huntley, Illinois, and will present a public preformance the oveninK of Xo\emboi- 18th at 8;00
P.M. Admission to this public pre- formance will require a ticket, which may be purchased from the particiF>ating schools, or at the door.
Huntley High School is sending all of their members to the Mc Henry County Choral Feslivtil, and Mr Perley says thnt tw* expeete this years Festival to be better than ever.
Police Report
Police Chief Richard Nelson ann¬ ounced today that within the next two weeks the 1964 Village Veh¬ icles tax sticker will arrive. Those who wish to keep the same number they had in 1963 should contact the chief at once so that those numbers will not bo assigned to someone else. When the tax stivk- ers come in, they will be distribut¬ ed unless arrangements to keep the same number have been made beforehand.
.nnual Slave Sale Planned
¦ The Hunlley F.F.A. Chapter is planning its annual Slave Sale. The agieculture advisory Board and Huntley chapter have decited to hold the slave sale on Nov. 29, 1963 and have the boys work on Nov. 30. The chapter will have Howard Ruth auctioneer the boys off as done in past years. The sale will take place at night and there
will be refreshments after the sale This year, as in past years, the chapter will have delicious home¬ made cakes auctioned off also.
The chapter is planning a little bit different entertainment this year, so we hope you will come to our slave sale.
Next week we will put our min¬ imum tillage results in the paper.

Lions Annual Kids Party
T le Hunlley IJons Club held its arnual Halloween Party at the huntiey High School gymnasium last Thursday evening, Oct. 31. A large number of students from pre- Echool ago through 8lh grade par¬ ticipated for the prizes awarded by the club. Each class in the various grades competed separtely for t'le prizes with the exception of the Sth - Sth grade classes which campeted in a group. The prizes were: $1.00 1st prize, SOc 2nd prize and 25c 3id prize.
In past years the Lions Club has held the contestonts parade across the stage. However, this year the stage was in use ^ »d the young¬ sters paraded in a He around the gym to the applkude of many adults.

Dr. McDowell's subject will be "What can our children mean tq us," and this should he interesting and enlightening to all parents of school - age children.
Everyone is cordially invited to attend the meeting Wednesday evening, 8:00 P.M. in the school Cafeteria.

Halloween Visits Huntley
There will be no school Monday, Nov. 11, which is Armistice day.
Huntley enjoyed a rather quite Halloween this year, reports police chief Richard Nelson. The Huntley police department was aided be the Tri-County Five Waters Radio Club. The club is a volunteer ser¬ vice origanization who aid police and civic origanitations with such events as parades and halloween when they £ire asked to do so. Each m«nber of the club has a 2-way citizens l)and radio in iiis car and r^x>rts to the base station, wWch in tlie case of Halloween was the Huntley Police Station. Chief Ndson reports that the
only damage done this Halloween were to several street lights on Church street which were l)roken out, the usual soainng of windows on the Main st, several pumpkins pilfered from the porches [althou^ pumpkin stealing was kepted to a minimum this year], and a few car windows smached in l>ack of egg- ebrect's guarge.
5 teen-agers were kept at the police station when txxnatoes were fond on tSieir person. While they were at the police station no cars were liit with tomatoes in Huntley. CootinOed:<^ Pajgie 6
