The bus was driven by Wayne Proffitt, supervisor of the school bus dept., ¦who made 3 trips daily to the beach and return in order to take all the ehildren enrolled in the swimming program.

Roger Perley, summer band in¬ structor, has announced that be¬ cause of a conflict with the open¬ ing of the McHenry County Fair, the BAND DAY, originally sched¬ uled tar Wednesday, July 31, has been moved up Iwo days to Mon¬ day, July 29.

Plans are in full swing for the McHenry County Fair, slated for Aug. 1, 2, 3 and 4 at the McHenry County fair grounds in Wood¬ stock. Thds is a Junior Fair, with exhibitions open to 4-H members and to boys and girls, age 10 to 21, in the Open Classes.
Highlighting the fair this year in addition to the livestock and home economics displays, will be the annual Queen contest on Thursday, 4-H night and the Trac¬ tor Pull on Friday, Junior Olym¬ pics and the Thrillcade Show on Saturday, with horse racing and a  horse   show  on  Sunday.  Out-

Park Board Met
The regular monthly meeting of the Grafton Park Board was called to order by President Porter of Oystal Lake. President were: Com¬ missioners Lawrence, Albrecht, Nacker, Treasurer Persons, Secre¬ tary Bennett, Auditor Burns, and Atty. Cowlin. Commi.ssioner O'Con¬ nor was absent.
The minutes and Ireasurer's re¬ port of the previous meeting were read and approved. Bills were ordered i>aid.
The Appropriation Ordinance Iwhich appears in this paper] was read and approved. There was some discussion on this ordinance. Com. Nacker felt that the ordin¬ ance should come closer to the act¬ ual amount of money to be spent during the forthcoming year. It was explained that the Appropri¬ ation Ordinance only set aside money to be used tentatively for the coming fiscal year.
Com. Lawrence stated that any¬ one has the right to come to the Park Board meetings with grie¬ vances and/or questions on any matter conseming the park.

However, on a gmjiiy day the rato was about 2 to ^^ith the non-res¬ idents in the majority.
The Park Board instructed Mr. Bennett, as beach manager, that if he felt that the beach was over¬ crowed and not safe for sanitary conditions he was within his rights to close the doors.
A motion was made by Lawrence and seconded by Albrecht to get pads for the use of p>ersons wish¬ ing to address the Park Board to write what they wished to discuss. In the past people have not had to present a topic before approaching the board. The vote was Ayes: Lawrenct, Albrecht, Porter, Nays: Nacker. The motion carried.
The board instructed Mr. Ben¬ net to obtain one loud speaker to aid the lifeguards in carrying out their duties at the beach.

Huntley Wins Tournement
Huntley Hai-vesters 4-H Club, of Huntley, \Con the McHenry County 4H Club Softball Tournament held June 15 - July 15, this year. The tC'am had a perfect 7-0 record.
Winning the County Tourna¬ ment will enable the Harvesters to compete in District play of the Illi¬ nois Farm Sports Festival to be held in DeKalb, Illinois, on July 29th. The winner of the DeKalb Tournament advances to the State Tournament to be held in Spring¬ field, this year, on August 21 & 22.
Tho captain of the team is Ed Ketchmark and the Harvesters arc coached by their leaders Delwin . Borhart, Melvin Johnson and Har¬ old Swanson.

Dick Matthews, field man for the Holsten • Friesian Association, said it was the best show from the standpoint of quality and numtiers that he's seen in the county.

other winners were - Top 3 year old cow, shown by Robert Wissell of Hettler & Wissell,, McHenry; top 2year old in milk, shown by Jim Jepson of Ringwood; the top 2-ycar old heifer was shown by Alan Borhart of Huntley; top aged cow was shown by Russell Mat¬ hews of Moo Meadows, Woodstock Robert Gardner of Soton Mills showed the winning Junior CJlet-of Sire; Senior Get-of-Sire was won by Williams & Bingham of Hunt¬ ley. Best Udder Class was won by Wissell & Hettler; Produce of Dam and Breeders Herd was also won by Hettler & Wisseli. Moo Mead¬ ows had the winning Senior Year¬ ling Heifer and Grand Champion Bull. Barlina Farms of Oystal Lake, owned by Ivan Hill and op¬ erated by John Addington, showed the Junior CSiampion Female, The Junior Yearling Heifer CSilf,' the Senior Hdfer CaU, the Junior Yearling Heifer, and had top Two Generations of Female.

The aA read Bevel Siding — 60c lin. ft and Framing Lumber 2x4 each 16c. The maniger-stated that he could have sold a lot of 2x4's at 16c but not too much Bevel Siding at 60c. We therefore correct thic mifltake. The 2x4's should have been 60c each and the Bevel Sidhig 16c per lin. ft. Both J. H. Patterson Co. and this News paper hope you will eome in and buy these items at the correct price.

July 17, whale visiting in the Wil¬ mer Montanye, Jr. residence on North Church Street. The girl who accustomed^^ using an electric stove expen^Hed some difficulty in lighting the gas oven and the build-up of gas exploded when the match ignited it.
The young girl phoned the tele¬ phone operator in an effort to get word to her mother at her place of work, and then hung up without giving her Huntley location. The operator was unable to contact the mother who had already left from working, so the supervisor, Mrs. Basco, spent nearly half an hour calling neighboi-s in the Elgin fami¬ ly's residence area in an effort to find out where the girl was visit¬ ing.

The pilce is $1.50 per col. in. Adverisors wishing to place an ad must have copy in to this office by 12:(X) noon Saturday July 28.
Teener League
On Thursday night, July 18, the Huntley Lions played Hampshire over there, winning in 5% innings by a 15 to 5 score. Hampshire pit¬ chers, Morton, Fisby and Sunder¬ lage gave up 8 hits, allowed 13 walks and struck out 6.
Ljons starting pitcher Larry Rasmussen struck out 4, allowed 5 walks and gave up 3 hits. Rjdief pitcher Brant Weber struck out 9, allowed 4 walks and gave up no hits.
On Tuesday, July 23, the Hunt¬ ley Lions went to Maple Park, and played their last league game.
On Friday, July 26tii, Teener League Tournament will start. It will be irfayed in Burlington on July 26-27-28. Huntley will play Hampshire the 26<h at 8:00 pjn.
