Chief Closes TavernsFriday
Huntley's chief of police Richard Nelson reported that on Friday night last week at about 10 p.m. 12 motorcycles and riders and four cars of people (about 25 persons in all came into Huntley and stopped at Offie's Tap. The police chief and four patrolmen entered the tavern, closed it as well as other taverns in town and directed the !?roup to leave town. Mr. Nelson stated that he informed the group that if they returned to town the taverns would be closed until they left. It was re ported that the group then left town in orderly fashion.
After the group had left Huntley the taverns were permitted to re¬ open.
The reason this group of people were asked to leave town stemmed from an accident which happened the previous week-end when a group of 60 motorists and motor¬ cyclists became unrully and creat¬ ed a disturbance in one of the tav¬ erns as well as doing other acts of indiscretion on main Street. When the group was ordered out of town at that time, some of them threaten¬ ed to burn buidings and return 200 strong. The Huntley police depart¬ ment hired aditional men to cope with any possible situation last week end as well as having members of the fire department on hand in case trouble should develop.

Crystal Lake American Legion Post Home was the scene of one of the most. important events of the organizations year, when the an¬ nual installation of officers ot the county American Legion and Ameri¬ can Legion Auxiliary was conducted Saturday evening,  Aug.  24.

The annual Little League 'Ban¬ quet was held Monday night in the Huntley Am^can  Legion  Home.
A roast beef dinner was served to some 80 boys and their parents. Following dinner the grroup was welcomed by Mr. Robert Schults, Legion Commander. He intn>duced the litde league manager, Mr. £2- dofl Pfaif, wbo spoke briery of the performance this season and of their flne 10-2 record. He awarded an inscribed patch to each member
of the team and also presented a baseball sifloed fay all the team to Greg Lindsey whom the boys voted the most valuable ^ayer.
