Park Board Notes
The regular mounthly meeting of the Grafton Park Board was held Wednesday May 15 at the Hunt¬ ley Village Hall. All members pres¬ ent (Commissioners: O'Connor, Porter, Lorence, Nacker, Albrecht.
Mre. Nacker was sworn in to office by Attorney Ck)wlin.
Charle.s Porter was elected as president and Jsimes O'Conner as vice-president, both by a unanim¬ ous vote.
President Porter reappointed Noil Bennett as secretary, Glen Person as Treasurer, and Henry Covylin as Attorney as Attorney on a motion by Lorence, seconded by O'Connor.
Schisser and Borchart of Hunt¬ ley were engaged to remove tl^ stumps from the park.
There was no further action on the proposed anection of part of Crystal Vista, which is in Dorr Township, to the Grafton Park District. The next move is up to the group wishing to anex.
There was some discussion on the possibility of ofchasing 5 lots across from the P^^ area. It. was decided that the price was too high at the present time and the matter was tabled.
New, different colored, tags will be given out this year. The old ones have been in use for the past 6 years. This year tM^will only he issued to residentdHjpormer years they were also issued to taxpayers also. Residents, may obtain there tags from the manager at the bea¬ ch as has tieen done in former years.
It was decided to investigaate the posibility of putting a sidewalk from the gate to the building. It was pointed out that at the present time x)eople have to walk through sand to get eo the buildingandit is dificult to maintain the appearence of the front and sides of the build¬ ing.
Bennett and O'Connor were app¬ ointed to find a renter for the apartment at the beach house as the present renter is plaining to moveed.
There was discussion on the ques¬ tion of tho possible sewer extention from Lakewood. It was explained that the present toilet facilities are merely dry wells, both at the toilet and the main house. There is no septics system at eigher location. Ten years ago the dry wells be¬ came coated and new ones had to be dug, one at each location con- ncctin to the former wells. When these dry wells cease to operate, there is no possibility of adding additional dry .wells or a septic system. In the event this happens, there could be no toilet facilities whatsoever at the park, imless the board anexes the park to the Lakewood sewer. It was also point¬ ed out that if a sanitary district were established with the Vista and Gardens, since the park is in Lake- wood, the beach would not be part of it. If Lakewood were to want to extend the sewer system to the village hall, which is west of the beach, they would have to pay a porportionate cost of the ojieratlon There is no possibility way that if the extention were to go through, that it could includ the Vista and Gardens.
The manager of Grafton Beach has been authorized to purchas uniform shirts with the insignia of Grafton Park on them for the Lifegards.

Lions Club News
by Roger A. Perley ?Sixteen Lions were present at the recent Salisbury Steak dinner ser¬ ved by the American Legion Aux¬ iliary at the Huntley American Legion Home. Two guests were present. Miss. Judy Person tmd Miss. Mary Scott, candidates for Miss. Huntley to be candidate for Miss McHenry County at the County Fair. Miss. Person was selected as the representative of Miss Huntley.
The treasurer-secretary report was given by Lion Thurow. A rep¬ ort was given by Lion Rudy con¬ cerning the recent District lions Convention where five Huntley Lions were in attendance.
It was Moved by Lion Burmeis¬ ter to donate funds as requested in a letter from the Huntley 4-H.
The Lions Oilcken Bar-b-que will be June 23, 1963, at the Hunt¬ ley Fire Bam. "Tickets may be pur¬ chased from any Lion member.

United Church To Hold Picnic
The United Church of Christ in Huntley is now planning its All Church Picnic for ,Sunday June 30th in the Hampshire For¬ est Preserve. Under the sponsor¬ ship of the Church Board of Christian Education this picnic will be a restoration of a cus¬ tom that tormerly prevailed as a regular feature of the church's program. Outdoor worship will be held at the picnic grounds follow¬ ed by a pot-luck non meal. A planned program of family and group activities will mark the afternoon.
A new Boy Scout committee met last Thursday evening at the United Church of Christ to con¬ sider reorganizing a troop in this community. The meeting was cal¬ led by Mr. Herbert Eggers, the Institutional Representative of the (3iurch. Present were Mrs. C3iar- les Zazansky, Troop Cbmmittee Chairman, Mr. Richard Clark, Mr.   C^BOig^   Adams  and   Neigh-
borhod Scout Commissioner, Wayne Lustead of Lake in the Hills. A search for a Scoutmaster will   be undertaken   shoctly.

The Huntley F. F. A. CJiapter has l>een working mainly this last week in the classroom. Ilie Jan- iors and seniors have been work¬ ing on a unit in "Producing Qual¬ ity Milk." The soi^omores are having aa imit in "Feeding the Milking Cow," and the freshmen agficulture class are having one on "Crops and Fertilizers."
On May 20, 1963, the Huntley F. F. A. Chapter, with the assist¬ ance of Lee Hennig and his spray¬ er, spraayed our corn with a herb¬ icide, Ab'azine, at 5 Dm. at tbe powder per acre. We would like to thank tbe niincls Stindaid OH Company for donating this Atra¬ zine to us through the cocniill- ments of Charles Ehle.

School Board Notes
The School Board of Huntley Consolidated School met Friday, May 10, 1963 for its regular monthly meeting with all members present.
The minutes of the last meet¬ ing were read and ai^roved. Re¬ volving fund transfers were made according to law.
Permission was given to use the school bus to transport children to Crystal Lake for the swimming classes. These wil start July 1, and continue for four weeks.
Due to the small number of rural children using the s(diOoJk buses to aattend the parade on Memorial Day, the rural bua pick¬ up on that day will be discontinued this year.
A dinner for faculty and board meml)ers aat Floyds in Carpen¬ tersville was to be held May 15, in honor of Mrs. Mabel Hemmer who is retiring this year. She hes taught almost 30 years, most of them in ourown Huntley S<diooL
A gradi^Htf dance for the Sth graders wflme held on Hay 28, and the graduation date will be May 3L

FHA Style Show
The Future Homemakers of America held their annual style show May 14 at the high schooL The students in the home econom.- ics classes madeled the outSta they made in class.
The th«ne of the style show was "Fitshions on a CoUege Cam¬ pus." The script was written by Judy Obenauf, Bonnie Olson and Delores Urbach. Approximately 50 girls participated in the style show.
After the stylp show a formal installatkm of the 1963-64 attic- ers was held.
Refreshments were served in the home economics rown. Mrs. Floyd Hartreck, mother of tl« past pres¬ ident, poured cotfee and Mrs. WU¬ son Garry, mother ot the new ptaa- ident, served punch.
