A iMtion was made by Mr. Jirik, secmKd by Mr. Bein, to Wre a person to talce the school census for $125.00 plus milef«e. It was re¬ ported that Mrs. Marcie Kalsow has ben selected. The motion was approved, all ayes.
A motion was offered by Mr. Jirik, sec<Mided by Mr. Bastian, to set August 1, as the final date to apply to the local board of educaton for applications to attend junior al¬ lege for Uic 1968-69 year. TWs mo¬ tion carried, all ayes.
A motion was then made by Mr. Jirik, seconded by Mr. Bein to ap prove of tlie aplic^ion of Terri Lamz to attend Junior CoUege un¬ der the Junior College Act. The vote was all ayes.
A motion was made by Miss Mac¬ keben seconded by Mr. Stading to approve the application of Mary Ann Riedl to attend Junior CoUege imder the Junior CoUege Act. The motion carried, aU ayes.

Dan Kem was authorized as its representative to file the awili- cation for this reading i»9ject. Tbe reading project shaU be authorized to obligate $2000.00 in adition to tbe Federal Grant of $8906.0a The reading project diall be for the acad¬ emic year unless more study indi¬ cates that the interest of the stu¬ dents would lie better served by amending the projeet to lie in^le- mented during the summer of 1969. The motion carried, 7 aye votes.
A request was received from Mr. Delaney to be Athletic Wrector for the year. He teaches boy's physical education and is Dean of Students as well as freii^-stHih backet ball coach. The board has asked Mr. De laney for an interview on this sub¬ ject. No action was taken at the meeting on Wednesday.
Mr. Bastian stiggested tfaat 2 as¬ sistant football coadies be hired in addition to the head coach.

A motion was made by Mrs. Thrun, seconded by Mr. Bein to purdiase an office de^ and chair for the hiiSi sdiool office for the sum of $236.66. This motion carried, all ayes.
A motion was offered by Mr. Bas¬ tian, seconded by Mr. Jirik to accept the resignation of Patrick Murphy, principal of the elemmtary sdid, ^eotive on Juiy 29, with regrets and thanks. The vote was 6 yeas, 1 opposed, the nay vote iieii^ cast by Mrs. Thrun. Mr. Mtuf^y ia tak¬ ing a position as principal in' an elementary school in the Berwyn school system.

Huntley Little League Takes 1st Place

" The Huntley Little League team «wiftj» a n»st, , on Friday Jaf-'ti^- Aigar Grove in a i^y off ^mia 3-1.' Their record for the year waS i<>-2.
On Sunday the league divided tato two teams far the annual North- South AU Star Game. The North (Burlington, Plato Center. Hazi^ shire No. 1 & 2 Wasco and Huntley) defeated (he Soutii (Elbum, Sugar Grove, Lily Lake, KaneviUe, Maple Park Cards & Tigers) by a score of 11-6. Dennic Pfaff, William Kodi & Greg Lindsey were on the Une-up from Huntley.
The road to the play-off. opened on June 11 with a 4-4 tie with Wasco lib which Bruce Rayirtond gave Huntley a triple.
On June 14, Greg Lindsey pitched a no-hit game against Lily Lake. Htmtley won 14-0 with Jelf Lang tripling to drive in 3 rbi's.
Maple Pat* defeated Huntley on June 18, 12-5 for theh* first loss. ^
On June 21, Mike Stading drove in 4 rbi's to help Huntley beat Kane¬ ville 15-2.
wai Kooh pitdied a 2 fait game against Plato Center on June 28 & helped his own cause with a home runs and 2 RBI's to win 7-1.
Hampshire No. 2 was defeated on June 29 wiien Huntley won 7-4.
The tie game witii Wasco was erased from the records on July 2 when Huntley returned & shut out Wasco 29-0. Dave Pfaff doubled, Mark Brettschneider had 2 douWes A Scott Lindsey had a double A a triple.
The game with Burlhigton oa July 0 featured a 1-2-3-2 triple play, a double by Dennis Pfafif and found Huntley winning 6-6.
On July 12 Huntley bested the Maple Park Cards 11-4. WiH Koch was the winninf pitcher. Ken Down¬ en had a double & Greg Lindsey a h<»ae run.
Huntley ctiuld come up witfa but 2 hits on July 16 A were beatm by EHnmi 4-2.
Against Sugar Grove, one of the leadbig teams, a noi hitter was thrown by Greg Lindsey A Huntley won 7-0.
In a tame cut sh<nt by min on July 23, Huntiey defeated Hamp¬ shire No. 1 by a score of 14-0. Uils win led to the i^y off and a victory for Huntley enduig one of tfae best

Mr. Marks is a native of Wlnslow, Nebraska, where he received his tprimary educatjion. He receaved his secondary education at Hooper, Nebraska, attended ct^ege one year at Midland. He then was ui tfae U. S. Air Force for 3 years during Worid War II. Following his discharge Mr. Marks received his B.A. de¬ gree from Nebra^ Weslyan University, with a major in biology and a minor in physical education.
He received his Master's degree and 6-year training certificate at the University of Nebra^a. The 6- year training certificate, he stated, is a step between the Master's and the Doctor's degree of Education. He tau^t Sdence and was o^ch at SterUng, Nebraska and at Fremont, Nebraska; he was Stqierintendent of schol at Sun City, Kansas. M«R-e recently he taught science and coached, at Main Townahip Hi^ Sdul in Paric Ridge, taught sdence at the Sdiaumberg District 54 jun¬ ior hi^, was prtau^ial of Black¬ hawk Elementary Schott for 8 Years, and princ^ of the Helen Keller Junior IHgh hi District M for 1 year.

In June of 1967 Union Special Machine Company dedded to taalpe arrangements for visits by Navy and lil&rine <^cials at the Great Lakes Naval Base to determine if they could establish visits to talk with groups of veterans about to be discharged and to acquaint tlieae men with job training and empltqr- ment oppo«tunitie8 at the company
Tlie company gained approval from the <^cers in charge of the base to make visits and address gronps of men assigned to the Marine Casualty Compony. Most of the men in the group were re¬ turned veterans from tte Vietnam area.
From the visits the company found that many of the men had never seen the inside of a manu¬ facturing i^ani Thus the iden was conceived to invite those Marines hiterested to visit and tour the Hnntley jdant
The flrst of these visits to the Huntley plant took place on July 25, 1967 when a group of 83 Mar¬ ines from Great Lakes Navid Hos- uital toured the plant.
