Mr. Syehamski was interviewed for the job by the police committee of the Village Board. This com¬ mittee is composed of Mayor Brill, Glen Delaney, Irwin Wasserstrass, and Ernest Fitzi. There were sev¬ eral other applications for the job, but the committee chose Mr. Sye¬ hamski because of his qualifica¬ tions. Details on Mr. Syehamski are lacking at this time, but full details will follow in next week's Farmside. Yygvi " Lite Little League The members of this years Little League team are as follows: Weber, Ackman. Clark, Millermon, Conley Jordi, C. Goehl, S. Goehl, Kahl, Swan.son, Borchart, Gruener. Stading, Doty, Miller, Bakley, Ball. Bruce Erstrom, Batboy, Don Erstrom, Manager. Bill Ockman, Coach. Hampshire vs. Huntley 6—7 The Huntley toam won their first game oof the season last Tues. night, June 6, against Hampshire b\ a score of 7 to 6. This years schedule is as fol¬ lows : June 8 Burlington at Huntley June 13 Huntley at Burlington June 16 Sugar Grove at Huntley June 20 Huntley at Hampshire June 22 Huntley at Sugar Grove June 27 Huntley at Elburn June 29 Huntley at Kaneville July 5 Kaneville al Huntley July 6 Elburn at Huntley July 11 Burlington at Huntley July 13 Huntley at Hampshire This years home games arc scheduled for 7:30. C ongragational BiLle School The Congregational Daily Vaca¬ tion Church School opens Monday morning, June 12th, at 9:00 A.M. for children from 4 years old through those who have completed the Sth grade. It will run until 11:30. The Ladies Aid of the Church, Mrs. Clyde Clanton, Pres¬ ident, will serve mid-morning milk and cookies. Teachers are Vera Rasmussen; Jo Ann Bakeley, Jean Britton, Lorraine Ermel, Vic Wil¬ liams, Francis Crowley, Ruth Fen¬ wick and Roberta Perkins. The General Director is Nancy Zimmer¬ man. 7th, 88th, & 9th graders will meet in the Boy Scout woods on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays from 1:00 P.M. for their classes. The Tuesday Afternoon Schedule shall meet on the dates of'June 13, June 20, June 27, July 3 (which is a Monday date because July 4, is a holiday!, July 11. July 18. and July 2.5, 1961. The schedule for thiis day shall comprise of: 1:30- 2:00. .\dvanced and Intermediate Bra.ss students; 2:00-2:30, Begin¬ ning Brass students; 2:30-3:00, Ad¬ vanced and Intermediate Reed stu¬ dents; 3:00-330, Beginning Reed students; 330-4:00, Beginning Per- cu.ssion students: and 4:00-4:30. Advanced and Intermediate Per- cu.ssion sludents. The Wednesday Afternoon sched¬ ule shall meet on the dates of June 14, June 21, June 28^ July 5, July 12, July 19, and July 26, 1961. Continued On Page 6 Last week we printed that Mr. Conley had only 8 people at the demonstration held on May 24. We wish to correct this. Around 80 people were present. Hansford Grets Ne^ir Macltiiie Something new has been added to Ben Hansford's Chevrolet on Route 47. II is the new Sunscope motor tester. This machine can analyze almost anything mechani¬ cal in the engine of an automobile. Some of the tests which it will perform are as follows; ignition of the coil, ignition points, the car¬ buretor, fuel pumps, combustion efficiency, electrical components, and many other tests too nimierous to mention. This machine is in¬ deed an asset to the people of Huntley. A test on any automobile should take about 15 to 20 minutes. This is the latest equipment possi¬ ble to buy for testing automobiles. Scliool Board Note Now that school has commenced; and the children are all on their vacation, most of us do not think oof the time when they will be rpsumir'-; their classes. The School Board, hoowever, at its May 22 meeting passed a motion b> Mack¬ eben and seconded by Froehling that school will commence for the children September .5, and that the teachers will hold a workshop on August 31 and September 1. This information might be well to keep in mind for planning vacations later on during tho summer. LutKerau Bihle ScKool Trinity Lutheran Vacation Bible Schoool began last Monday with an enrollment of 122 children. It is expected that this enrollment will increase. New enrollments will be accepted through Monday ot next week (June 12). Everyone from 3 years old through this years seventh grade is welcome. There are no charges for attending, but a free-will offer¬ ing will be received on the Friday of each week. Huntley Band at Milk Day * • * b.v Roger A. Perley Students of th eHuntley Cons. Schools Cadet Band and Senior Band met at the school around 11:00, on Saturday. June 3, 1961, to attend the Harvard Milk Day Parade, Harvard, Illinois. This is the third year in succession, that the High School Senior Band has entered this event; it is the second year that the Cadet Band has en¬ tered the event. The musiical units from Huntley required more than one block of parade space. The members of the Cadet Band were under the Drum Majorette leadership of Christine Bjorn, primary majorette, and Dian Stading, secondary drum ma¬ jorette. The Huntley Senior Band unit was lead by fhe newly organ¬ ized Color Squad, the Newly or¬ ganized Marching Tympani, the Indian War Princess. Pat Kunde, the primary Drum Majorette, Mar¬ jorie Jensen, and the new Secon¬ dary Drum Majorette, Mary Ellen Pregnitz, and the Huntley Senior Band. Carole Rehberg Honored Norman, 111.—The largest fresh¬ man class in the 104-year history of Illinois State Normal University is expected to register in Septem¬ ber. With new student permits to enter running 35 per cent higher than at this same time last year, officials anticipate a record-high overall enrollment of some 4,900. The 1961-62 school year starts with Orientation Week September 10-16. New students, along with their parents, are invited to attend a coonvocation on the 10th. Classes for all students start September 15. Among the 2,030 persons already receiving notification of acceptance to ISNU as freshmen are Carole Rehberg, Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Rehberg, of second St. Huntley, Illinois.
