1st Football Practice Today
Today, Thursday, Augu.st 23, football practice will start at 3:00 p.m. in the Huntley High School under the direction of Coach Bill Barry.
Physical examinations will be held at 10. :45. Equipment, how¬ ever will be passed out at 9:00 in the morning.
The Huntley Farmside wishes to express the best^ of luck to the Redskins during this home coming season.
Police Car Stolen
At approximately 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 18, the Huntley police responded to a call on Wood stock street. While on the premises a Huntley resident took the police car and moved it several blocks away. The man was identified by other Huntley residents and re¬ ceived a ticket for disorderly con¬ duct. At 2:30 he appeared in Judge Clanlon's court and was fined $50 plus $5 cost for taking the car.
The man had no explanation for why he had taken the car but did say that he thought the policeman could stand a shave. Judge Clan¬ ton, al this point, said that if the man had any more comments like this, he would fine him $10 more for contempt of court.

Again as in last year, the Hunt- ley Community Service Group will will hold their annual newcomer's parly. It will be held on Septem¬ ber 8 at the Huntley Fire Barn. This year it is being called a Com¬ munity Party in the hopes that more people will attend.
Gentlemen are asked t) bring 50 cents which will be donated to the mund being created for the proposed library district. The money will be used to aid in legal expenses.
Howard Ruth will act as the master of ceremonies, and there will be a band and square dancing as well as regular ball room dances

This year approximately 450 Ele¬ mentary Students and 148 High .school student will return to the Huntley Con.solidgipd School on Tuesday, Septerflp" 4, 1962. All Teaching and sts^^positions 'have been filled, and we are looking forward to your youngsters be©ta| ning of another school year. 'VWr want to extend^ a special w^elcome l^ack to all students, and also to extend an "invitation" to all par¬ ents and friends^^lie district to visit your schoolflphetime during the ensuing schow year.
This year all elementary and high school sessions will begin at 8:30 a.m. instead of 8:50 a.m. the previous starting time. School wil dismiss in the afternoon for both elementary and high school stu¬ dents at 3:30 p.m. instead of 3:48 p.m. as was the case last year. Time schedule as Follows: Tuesday, September 4 - First Day - Half Day Session Only - No Lunch served

Thp Board of Directors of the c'urtley Community Credit Union at t'leir regular monthly meeting for the mor\th of August declared a 4 per cent dividend to the sav- '"n^i members of the credit 'union. This is an increase over last year. Raymond J. Kelley local attorney and treasurer of the credit union says that in most cases the sav¬ ings are matched with life insur¬ ance at no extra cost and ae» counts are insured by an agency of the State of Illinois up to $10,000.00.
The directors of the credit union will hold their annual dinner meet¬ ing on September 8th. Mr. Harvey schildgen formerly with the credit union in now a teller at the Union 'National Bank in Elgin, Illinois.

Man Sentanced For Beating Huntley Girl
Leo Eibert, 25, of Elgin went to trial Wednesday, August 22 fer^ beating a Huntley girs in her Aome Tuesday, August 14. Judge Joe Ritter sentanced him to a $200.0<J fine or 30 days in jail. El)ert is from Minnesota. He has l)een in trouble l)efor and at the present time is on patrol for transporting a stolen car and a Minor girl over the state line. McHenry County Council Ameri¬ can Legion Auxiliary met on Fri¬ day August 10th at the Legion Home in Qystal Lake. County President Winnefred Hammond of Fox River Grove presided. 65 members present and many guests Hazel Purvey meml)ership Chair¬ man reported 1,722 memt)ers in the County. Marcella Berg of Al¬ gonquin reported 21,708 Poppies sold not of $2,062.06 being realized to be used for rehabilitation work. Elsie Jordi of Huntley Rehabilita¬ tion Chr. reported parties at Elgin for the Veterans, successful. Mrs Winnefred Hammond retiring president gave her annual report and thanked her officers and chairman. Guests were presented Helen Corey of Woodstock Past District Director, Gladys Kerns Past Secretary.

Mr. Roger Perley presented his tentative Music Budget for the coming year. The Board voted to set a definite Music quota for the year and Mr. Perley has agreed to use his discretion on use of the funds to coincide with the amount of the budget.
Mr. Richard Jacobs of the W. W. Rice Insurance Company wcis present at the request of Board President M. Weber, to explain and discuss our school insurance coverage. It was voted to extend our insurance to cover the athletic field equipment. His company has offered at no charge to make t complete insuranc survey of all our school property with individu¬ al breakdown information, so t)f* Board will know the exact cover¬ age on all separate units. The Board accepted the offer with thanks.
U.S. Steel of Waukegan, Illi¬ nois, Cydene Fence IMvision be¬ ing the lowest bidder, was awarded a contract to erect a fence to the North of the school bounding the property of Bob Zirk. This will re¬ place a previous fenoB which no longer stands, and vHIl serve to prevent trespas^ng on private property.
A bid by Hansen PlumWhg of Huntley was unanimously ac¬ cepted to solve the problem of re¬ duced water pressure in the new schoof wing.
Miscellaneous fund transfers were approved ase required by law.
Mrs. Hellingshead's resignation as Second Grade teacher was ac¬ cepted.
