Coiv Girls Come To To-wn
The TEXAS COW GIRLS, famous girls cage team that will appear here on the date of Dec. 21, 1961 at the Huntley High Gym .sponsored by H-Club, is now in their 12th operational season. The TEXAS COW GIRLS have played all the Nation's big houses such as Madison Square Garden, Chicago Stadium, Cleveland Arena, Boston Gardens, San Fran¬ cisco Cow Palace, Los Angeles Pan Pacific, among hundreds of other top gyms and arenas
They drew 13,800 fans in Madison Square Garden and have played on N.B.A. cards with the Lakers, Syracuse. Knicks, Warriors, Celtics, Hawks, as well as 150 games on the famous Harlem Globe Trotter cards
They have won over 70% of their games playing versus maile opposi¬ tion over the 11 year span previous to entering this season.
Their opposition on the 21st will be Huntley's Fighting Farmers & Coaches.

The American Leg:ion held their annual Christmas party for mem¬ bers and their wives last Satur¬ day night, December 9
The party started at 6:30 with ¦ free cocktail hour At 7:30 a do- i licious turkey dinner was served | by the ladies of the Congregation- |
al Church. Following the dinner, an excellent ban arrived and music was provided from 9 to ap¬ proximately 1:30.
Richard Dwyer, chairman of the event, stated that the part was a huge success and that everybody enjoyed themselves
Santa Coming To Town
Santa Claus will come to Himt¬ ley a little bit early this year. In a letter to the Farmside, he said that he wanted all the good little boys and girls of Huntley to come and see him on Saturday at Schultz's Drug Store. Santa says that he is very busy time of year preparing for the big night. He has many many stops to make. So he can only spend a limited time in Huntley. On Saturday he will be at Schultz's from 9:30 AM to 12 PM and 1 PM to 4 PM.
Farley Wins From Farm Shonv
Mr. Walter Farley, long time resident of Huntley, won an olive green pair of boots on Burt Wil¬ son's 5:30 A.M. Farm News pro¬ gram. The boots wero donated by the U. S. Rubber Co , sponsors of the show- Listeners were asked to send in their names on postal C£u-ds> and Mr. Farley's name was chos¬ en.
Mr Farley also entered a con¬ test on the program immediate¬ ly following thie Farm News. This contest requires the participants to name the month, day, and hour of the first snowfall which will amoimt to two or more inches of snow. Mr. Farley sent in Decem- .ber 21,1961 at 6:30 P M. The prize for this contest is a $299 snow plow suitable for side walks and driveways. The "Farmers Alman¬ ac" picks December 28 for the first snowfall of this amount. We will all be watching to see if Mr. Farley's prediction comes true.
Bank Notes From Miller
Continued "tax favoritism" for mutual financial institutions doesn't make much sense in a free enterprise economy burdened by huge dcfens costs," a local banker declared here today.
"Sa\ings and loan associations and mutual savings bank paid fed¬ eral income taxes averaging sub¬ stantially less than 1 per cent of net income in 1960," said Wayne Miller, Exec. Vice President "Commercial banks paid taxes amounting to 35 per cent of net income. This is favoritism which the mutual institutions do not need and the country cannot afford."

The regular meeting of the Huntley Village Board was called to order by President Brill at the Village Hall, 8:00 P.M., last Thurs¬ day, December 7, 1961.

The treasurers report followed the reading and approval of the minutes from the previous meet¬ ing. In this report, theasurer re¬ ported that hte Motor FHiel Tax for No\ember is $539.47 and the Municipal Tax for August is $849.- 05
