It remains a five-column tabloid, however, with slightly wider columns and an overall shorter page. The change comes as a result of a dramatic increase in paper cost to the printing industry. Our printer. Southern Lakes Publishers of Delavan, Wl, opted to change its web press size in response. We hope our readers enjoy our new look and we hope all our associates will bear with us as we adjust doing business wilh the new size. New Huntley Trustees To be Sworn in Thursday There will be a special meeting of the Village of Hunlley Board of Trustees on Thursday, May 4, 1995 at 7pm at the village annex building at 11221 Dundee Rd., Huntley for the swearing in of the new trustees. There will be a Committee of the Whole meeting of the Village of Huntley on Thursday, May 4, 1995 at 7pm or soon thereafter at the village annex building at 11221 Dundee Rd., Huntley. * Library district request to increase donation * Department reports * Prime business park site plan approval * Final plat unit 1, phase 1 Prime residential Sixth graders spread the news about prairies with a booth at McHenry County College's Earth Day celebration. These 6th graders are Matt McKinnon, Grant LaPierre, Karissa Sartell and Alison Smith. Planning Commission Considers Prime Plans Kelly Bein Crowned 1995 Miss Huntley By Cathy DeQuaker Congratulations to Kelly Anne Bein, who was crowned Miss Huntley 1995 at the pageant held on Sunday, April 30, in the Huntley Factory Shops. Kelly is 17-years-old and attends Huntley High School as a senior. She enjoys collecting teddy bears and flower arranging. Her plans for the future include attending the University of Illinois Champaign- Urbana to major in agriculture. Kelly and her parents. Dale and Barbara Bein, are no su-angers to Hunlley and have been residents of Hunlley for a long lime. Generations have lived here for 46 years. The Hunlley Chamber of Commerce would like to thank First National Bank of Marengo- Huntley Banking Center for sponsoring Kelly and Jones New York Factory Finale al the Hunlley Factory Shops for their sportswear sponsorship. Also, the following individuals and businesses for their support: Northwest Mobile Fitness, Interior Motives, TJH Contracting, Merle Hoeft, Mrs. Turk and the Hunlley High School Music Department, Tim Hoeft, Eric Ruth, Kristy Smith, Jane Awe, Dr. William Awe, Essency Desktop Creations, Hunlley Lioness, Hunlley Lions, Hunlley Park Distfict, Huntley Harvestors 4-H Club, R & R Metalcrafl, A special meeting of the planning commission was called to order at '(#^pm by Chairman Rohlwing. Present were Commissioners Daum, Domagalski, and Hahn. Also present were Mayor Dhamer and Adminislrator Nelis. Commissioner Borchart entered the meeting at 7:07pm. PRIME BUSINESS PARK SITE PLAN Prime Vice President, Bohdan Himiak, displayed the Master Development Plan. He described the project as 150 acres East of Route 47, immediately North of the well house tank area and sub-station. The zoning is business park, to include light industry, office and similar type development. The plan to extend the road "Oak Creek Parkway" Storm water management would be contained in the northeast quadrant There are four wetland areas; Prime plans no mitigation on one. The Army Corps, and NIPC have reviewed this and approve the concept Applications are with the Corps, now. The water line would also serve residential. Sanitary sewer would connect wilh the existing treatment plant. Mr. Hirniak referred to comments from village staff contained in April 4,1995 letter: Administrator Nelis stated that the cul-de-sac is too long and a north/south road is needed. Mr. Himiak staled that a road will run in some manner between the points. Adminisu-ator Nelis asked about a traffic analysis. Mr. Himiak replied that a study is being done of Route 47 and traffic counts, which will be provided for village review. Administrator Nelis slated that an easement is needed over the watermain running north and south. Mr. Himiak slated that a permanent easement will be shown. Mr. Himiak slated that Prime and the village are in agreement with the remaining points in the April 4,1995 staff letter. Administrator Nelis referred to letter dated April 7,1995 from Baxter & Woodman and cited the following comments: #2 - Public sidewalk is not shown on the plan submitted (along Route 47). Mr. Himiak replied this will be done as part of the Route 47 design and construction. continued on page 3 Kelly Anne Bein was crowned Miss Huntiey 1995 at the pageant held last Sunday. Mulerspaugh & Associates, J.H. Patterson, Huntley Floral, Midwest Ground Cover, S.S. Clipper, Quality Water Conditioning, H.Waller Portraits and the Hunlley Factory Shops for the use of their facility. "Fill The Boot" For Burn Camp By Capt. Al Wiesneth For the past several years firefighters from the Huntley Fire Department have had a "Fill The Boot" campaign. On May 5-6 the proceeds from our boot drive will help send young bum victims to camp this summer. These are children between the ages of 8-16 that have been scarred for life from bums. Bum camp is held al YMCA Camp Duncan, located neiu^ Fox Lake. The camp is approximately 400 acres on semi private Fish continued on page 2
