By Tracey Schwartz
During American Education Week, Nov. 18-22, Huntley's American Legion Auxiliary donated five checks totaling $387.00 to the Huntley School Library.
Auxiliary Education Chairman May Chesak said that traditionally the Auxiliary donates three checks of $75 each, designated to high school, junior high and elementary.
Five years ago while
visiting the Library's Learning Center Mrs. Chesak noticed there were no pictures on the walls and recommended to the Auxiliary to donate a fourth check for pictures.
The fifth check is donated to purchase five special books dedicated to five Gold Star Auxiliary Members, for the Library. A Gold Star member is an Auxiliary member
who has lost a relative in military service.
Accepting the donations were High School Principal Gene Goeglein, Junior High Principal Kelly Baird and K-12 Librarian Eileen Zywiciel.
In addition, during American Education Week, the Auxiliary gave a bushel of apples to each Huntley school for its teachers.
Thank You To American Legion Auxiliary
By Gene Goeglein, Huntley High School Principal
Recently, the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #673 made a significant donation to the library for books and art prints. Three hundred
eighty seven dollars were presented by Mrs. May Chesak, Education Chariman. This is an annual donation for which we are most appreciative.
Thank you to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #673 for your thoughtfulness and generosity.
Huntley Dental Opens New Office
Dr. Kenneth Bork greets Tammy Biba, the first patient at the Huntley Dental Associates' new office located in Huntley Center on Route 47.
On October 28, 1991 the Huntley Dental Associates opened their new office in the Huntley Center. The move was completed after almost a year of planning and designing an office facility that would best serve the needs of the Huntley community for years to come. The new office includes 4 patient treatment rooms, a patient education room to help patients keep up to date on current dental techniques and treatment, a dental laboratory, and a sterilization center. State of the art treatment delivery systems are now being utilised to provide dental care in a comfortable and modem environment.
The Huntley Dental Associates was established in December of 1983 by Drs. Kenneth Bork, Doug Bork, and Dean Lodding. Office
Manager Patsy Stohlquist has been with the office since it first opened. Patsy is the friendly face you see as you first walk in the door and pleasant voice you hear when you call. In 1984 Judi Iwasyk and Toni Fencl, both Registered Dental Hygienists, came aboard to assist in providing for the continuing dental care needs of patients with tooth cleanings and dental home care education.
In 1987 Dr. Kevin Anderson joined the practice upon his graduation from Creighton University Dental School. Dr. Anderson has been a welcome addition to the practice with his excellent patient rapport and gentle manner. He focuses his practice on general and family dentistry. He is a member of the McHenry County continued on page 11
