Huntley Celebrates Memorial Day ^
Huntley Harvestors made a grand showing in the Huntley Memorial Day Parade.
Carolyn Kaczmarski, with her two children Ricky, 8 and Jesse, 5, donated a special P.O.W. Flag to the Huntley VFW at May 27th Memorial Day Festivities. Arrangements are being made to fly the flag in Deicke Park on Route 47,

The weather cooperated with a beautiful day as Huntley's Memorial Day celebrationi began Monday, May 27, at 10:30 am, with a big parade organized by the American Legion. Police, Fire, Marching Band, Girl Scouts, 4-H floats and dignitaries in a fleet of autos, moved in stately progress around the town square and on to the town cemetery.
Master of Ceremonies, Herb Glissendorf, announced each activity. Rev. Woodruff opened with a prayer. Betsy Vargesson, of Legion head¬ quarters, and May Chesak placed a wreath at the base of the cemetery flag pole. "Flanders Field" was read by Lori Gustafson and the "Response" was read by May Chesak. A special P.O.W. flag was presented by Ricky (age 8) and Jesse (age 5) Kaczmarski to be flown at Deicke Park. The 11th District Parlimentarian and
former American Legion County Commander, Gaylen Vargesson, spoke to the gathered townspeople.
The Huntley Marching Band performed Our National Anthem under the direction of E. J. Kriz. The Legionnaires fired the salute and Cliff Turner played a taps solo. A final benediction was given by Rev. Woodruff. The Huntley Girl Scouts and Brownies placed a tribute of red carnations on the graves of every war veteran in the cemetery.

Library Board Meets
The Huntley Area Library Board met on May 8, 1991, at 7:30 pm at the Huntley Park District Boardroom. The first meeting of the newly elected board was called to order by Mr. Ruth. Present: Crabill, Kohley, Kloempken, Ruth,
Sheets. Guests: M. Pollack. Kloempken moved, Sheets seconded to keep officers slate: President - C. Ruth, Vice-President - R. Drendel, Secretary - C. Crabill, Treasurer - L. Borhart. Yeas: Kloempken, Sheets, Crabill,
Kohley. Nays: none. Motion carried.
Kloempken moved, Kohley seconded to accept the minutes of the April meeting as printed. Yeas: Kloempken, Kohley, Crabill, Sheets. Nays: none. Motion carried.
Crabill moved. Sheets seconded to approve the payment of bill ($394.75) to North Suburban Library System. Yeas: Crabill, Sheets, Kohley, Kloempken. Nays: none. Motion carried.
