Huntley Lioness Club will donate the profits from Monday Night Bingo, Nov. 23, to the LEAC II fund. The more that come, the more profit there will be for LEAC-H. Bingo starts at 6:4Spm in the Huntley Legion Hall. Come early to pick out your lucky cards and seat. Doors open at 5:30pm. If you subscribe or buy The Huntley Farmside newspaper, clip out the coupon to get one card free. Also, bring a donation for the Grafton Food Pantry and get another card free. Funds are needed to fight the proposed landfill on Route 47, just north of Reed Road. Hope there's lots of support for LEAC IT at Bingo on Monday, Nov. 23. IHuntley Jaycees Win Awards At State Level The Jaycees sent three delegates to Springfield, IL to join Jaycees throughout Illinois the weekend of Nov. 14 at the Illinois Jaycees Fall General Assembly. The Second Quarter meeting, hosted by the Illinois Jaycees, provided training seminars for the leaders of our community. Representing the Huntley Jaycees were President Becki Schmalbeck, Executive Vice President Mark Mercer and Secretary Paula Kohley. During the weekend they attended seminars on leadership and community development. Saturday evening the delegates attended an awards banquet to celebrate the accomplishments of local chapters and their officers for the Second Quarter. The awards ceremony was conducted by Illinois State President Sid LeGrand of O'Fallon, IL. The Huntley Jaycees were recognized for their efforts to assist in the Illinois State Police Search for Tammy Zywicki, The Jaycee Circus, and their New Member Orientations. Area President Becki Schmalbeck was presented with a Presidential Award of Honor, from Illinois State President Sid LeGrand. Mark Mercer received awards as Officer of the Month in September and October, Officer of the Second Quarter, and the distinguished award from the Illinois State's First Lady, "The Special Person's Award." Crystal Sheehan, also a Huntley Jaycee, received an award as September Jaycee of the Month. Congratulations Jaycees, it is quite an honor to be presented with awards at the State level. The Illinois Jaycees is a young person's leadership training organization involving 12,500 members in over 275 communities. Everybody from the ages of 21 through 39 is encouraged to become involved. Huntley Farmside Deadline Changes For Thanksgiving \Neek Edition The deadline for submitting articles or ad requests will be changed to noon on Monday, ' Nov. 23, for The Huntley Farmside Nov. 26 edition, due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Jaycees Las Vegas Nite To l-leip LEAC 11 The Huntley Jaycees are sponsoring a Las Vegas Nite, you won't want to miss. On Friday, Nov. 27, the Jaycees will be having a Las Vegas Nite at the Bowl-Hi Lanes. This event is being held to raise money in an effort to make a donation to LEAC II (Landfill Emergency Action Committee II). LEAC II has been established to fight against the proposed Balefill just north of Huntley, in Lake in the Hills. The entire community is concerned about this proposal and the efforts to stand against it require a great deal of money. To contribute to this committee the Jaycees have planned this fund raising event to make a donation. Mark your calendars for Friday, Nov. 27, from 7:00pm til midnight. The Jaycees promise to entertain you Las Vegas Style at the Bowl-Hi Lanes on Route 47 in Huntley. We are sure that you will find a seat that suits your fancy. Casino games being offered include Poker, Blackjack, Roulette, A Money Wheel, Bang and Pull Tabs. This event is being run in cooperation with the Casino Party Suppliers, Addison, IL. SHARE Announces New Pick Up Location We would like to thank the school district for allowing SHARE to use the grade school cafeteria as our distribution point. If you have food to pick up or you would like to sign up for an order for the December 19 delivery, please come to the Elementary School this Saturday, November 21 between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. SHARE is a good way to cut your food bills. You can get $30-$35 worth of food for only $13.00 plus 2 hours per month of community (volunteer) service. SHARE is for anyone who likes to eat! For more information, call Rev. Ron Woodruff at 669-3691, or Jan at 669-3443 (evenings) or Carol at 669-5395 (evenings). Orders for December 19 distribution must be to Jan by December 4. SHARE will accept cash or food stamps.
