Previously he was the Administrative Assistant to the Village Manager of Carpentersville. Krauss played an important part in the recent Prime Group Annexation into Huntley. LEACII Steer Roast Tickets Still Available LEAC II Stresses Importance of Fundraising To Fight Against Dump North Of Huntley By Tracey Schwartz There are still tickets available for the LEAC II (Landfill Emergency Action Committee) Steer Roast on Sunday, September 13. LEACII reminds Huntley residents that the proceeds from this event will be used to bring in out-of-state witnesses for the landfill hearings which begin at 9am, September 14th in the LITH airport. The witnesses are necessary to present a large body of information in the hearing, so that even if LITH passes the landfill, LEACII can send the hearing information to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency to overrule the LITH decision. The Steer Roast will feature children's games, square dancing, an auction, prizes, raffles, deejay "39 & Holding," and of course lots of great food prepared by Coleman's Restaurant in Crystal Lake. Four cows have been donated by Alan Hamilton. Trinity Lutheran Church and Turnberry Country Club are donating chairs. Huntley Girl Scouts and Huntley Harvestors are husking corn. This community effort happens from l-4pm at Hamilton Farms, 1/2 mile east of Rt. 47 on Conley Road, north of Huntley. Auction includes over $12,000 worth of donated items ranging from (1) week use of villa in Cancun to a llama to Bears/Packers tickets to floral arrangements to $200 worth of yard work, and much more. A drawing will be held for an RCA 20" color TV with remote. An auctioneer from Sycamore will donate his time. Tickets are available at the Huntley Village Hall (669-2341). Adults cost $25 per person and children under 12 are $5. Huntley Planning Commission Review Development Plans For Powder Park, Prime Group PUD Process ^^ The regular monthly meeting of the Huntley Planning Commission was called to order at 7:35pm by Chairman Wilmer Rohlwing. Those members present were Ed Domagalski, Paul Mercer, Darrick Franzen and Jack Daum. Also present was Mayor Dhamer. Mr. Daum moved and Mr. Franzen seconded to accept minutes of July 13, 1992 meeting as submitted. Motion carried. Pat Dunn, Planner for Smith Engineering representing Mugavero property presented concept plan for property. Also present was son, Pete Mugavero. All members received the concept plan ahead of time to review it. As it was presented by Pat, the parcel consists of 14.1 acres requesting zoning of R-4 PUD. Plan would include 15 single- family homes and 72 townhouses for total of 87 units. These would be rented or owned. Gross density of 6.2. The general opinion of the board members was that they could be satisified if there was another access to the property. This property is between the Chicago and Northwestern Railway and Woodcreek and Huntley Highlands. Only one entrance. The board suggested another entrance to tie in with Lori Lane or Becky Lee or any part of the open area where the single- family lots are. No vote was taken because of this being a concept plan, but they gave general OK if it met with.the rest of what was suggested. Since it is tucked in a more private area, it could be a good project. Next order of business was discussion of Prime Group Review Process. Every time a new parcel is submitted to become developed, it would only meet with the Planning Commission one time only for both the Preliminary and the Final Plan with 45 days to review, not two times like a normal PUD. This would save time. This was advice from the Village Board. No vote was necessary, all agreed on this recommendation. The board also wanted to know what the ruling is on Review Plans like the factory on Kiley Drive which the Planning Commission had never seen. Mayor Dhamer insisted that we had reviewed the plans and Chairman Rohlwing said we did not and all board members agreed with the Chairman, no plans were ever seen by Planning Commission. Mayor Dhamer apologized to the board, but did say that everything, including R-4 zoning should be reviewed by the Planning Commission. They felt it would be helpful to all board members both on the Village and Zoning Boards. There was no further business. Motion was made by Mr. Franzen and seconded by Mr. Domagalski to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried, meeting adjourned a 9:10pm. /s/Wilmer Rohlwing, Chairman Acting Secretary of Meeting These minutes are subject to approval at the next regular meeting scheduled for Sept. 14 at 7:30pm in the Village Hall.
