Today Show's Willard Scott To Wish Bundgard Happy 105th
Long-time Huntley resident Chris Bundgard will celebrate his 105th birthday on Thursday morning, September 3rd, 1992, with Willard Scott on the Today Show.
Scott is the weatherman on the morning network news show who wishes "Happy Birthday" to folks marking 100 or more years on this earth. The Today Show with Bryant Gumbel and ¦^Catherine Couric, airs at 7am on Channel 5, NBC, Monday through Friday.
Minnie Harting Celebrates 101 Years On Earth
Long-time Huntley resident Minnie Harting will also celebrate a landmark birthday soon. She turns 101 years old on Sunday, September 6, 1992.
Harting currently resides at Valley High Nursing Home. She especially enjoys mail and would like to hear from her old friends in Huntley. Her address is 2406 Hartland Rd., Woodstock, IL 60098.
Huntley Police Department Reports Rash of Van, Truck Break Ins

Huntley Police Officer Kevin Hillner reported four burglaries to vehicles in Huntley within the last week.
According to Hillner the thieves are targeting pick-up trucks and vans and stealing construction equipment such as generators, saws and other tools. Hillner says the burglaries are occurring between Upm and 6am in all parts of Huntley. In addition,
neighboring communities such as West Dundee, LITH and Elgin are experiencing the same type of burglaries.
The Huntley Police Department urges local citizens to call 911 if they hear or see anything unusual. If anyone has any information about the burglaries, he or she should contact Officer Kevin Hillner at 669-2141.
Kohley Receives Highest State Honor For Jaycees ——^^
Huntley Jaycee, Paula Kohley, will receive honors from Jaycee State President, Sid LeGrand, on Saturday, August 16, at the Illinois Jaycees Summer General Assembly.
As you may recall, Paula was recognized at the Fox Valley Region level about one month ago. This outstanding Huntley member was also honored at the State level just last weekend. Paula is the "Outstanding Illinois State Jaycee of the Quarter." This honor is the highest a Jaycee can receive in
Huntley Jaycees Host Guess Weight Of Okha Contest, Franzen Circus
Kids, guess the weight of Okha the Elephant, and win a pass for you and your family to the Franzen Bros. Circus, performing in Huntley on September 13, sponsored by the Huntley Area Jaycees. The circus will be located on Route 47, just north of the Huntley Center.
To enter, simply write your guess, along with your name, age, phone number and address, on a plain piece of paper and put it in the ballot box located in the Grade School Office, or mail it to: Huntley Area Jaycees, c/o Okha Contest, P.O. Box 733, Huntley, IL 60142. The Deadline is Sept. 4. 1992.
The kids with the closest three guesses will win a family pass to the circus on Sept. 13, good for either the 2:00pm or the 4:30pm show.
The circus is coming to Huntley under the sponsorship of the Huntley Area Jaycees. It will be held on Route 47, just north of the Huntley Center on Sept. 13, with 2 complete 1 1/2 hour shows at 2:00pm and 4:30pm. Advance tickets are available now for $5 per person at Huntley Supermarket, Dairy Mart, Huntley Pharmacy, or Video Smideo, or at the door for $7.00.

The Illinois Jaycees is the Greatest Young People's Organization involving 12,500 members in over 300 communities. Everbody from the ages of 21 through 39 is enocuraged to become involved.
