They first went to the Museum of Science it Industry to view the Food for Life Exhibit. Some of the people took part in a taste test for peanut butter, others saw behind the scenes view of how they take care of the chicken eggs in incubators for their chicken hatching exhibit. Next was a boat ride to view Chicago's skyline from Lake Michigan. We rode the Marlyn from its port by the Shedd Aquarium to just north of Navy Pier. Lunch was in the park just outside Meigs Field. The next stop was the John Hancock Building where we viewed the city from above. The weather was as clear as it could be. Then we went on tours of some of Chicago's famous restaurants which included Ditka's and its famed Hall of Fame, Ed Debevic's, Hard Rock Cafe and the Rock N' Roll McDonalds where we had a sundae. It was a great day, a lot of fun and interesting sight?.We thank Mrs. Stier for putting this trip together. 4-H Cute Cookers ride the Marlyn on Lake Michigan School Board Meets The regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #158, Huntley Consolidated Schools, Huntley, IL was held in the Central Office Building on May 16, 1991 at 7:30p.m. The meeting was called to order by a Board Member at 7:35p.m. Upon roll call the following members answered present: Ms. Ahrens, Mrs. McDonald, Mr. Crabill, Mr. Greve. Absent: Mr. Heavey, Mr. Bauman, Mr. Freeberg. All present joined in the pledge to the flag. 1. Mr. Crabill moved, Mrs. McDonald 2nd to appoint Mr. Greve as President Pro Tem. A yeas - 0 nays. Motion carried. 2. Mr. Crabill moved, Ms. Ahrens 2nd to approve the minutes of the April 19th regular meeting aa written. 4 yeas - 0 nays. Motion carried. 3. Ms. Ahrens moved, Mr. Crabill 2nd to approve the minutes of the May 8 special meeting as written. 4 yeas - 0 nays. Motion carried. Mr. Freeberg entered the meeting at 8:00pm. Mr. Bauman entered the meeting at 8:05pm. 4. Ms. Ahrens moved, Mr. Crabill 2nd to go into executive session at 8:06pm for the purpose of discussing personnel. Yeas: Ahrens, Crabill, McDonald, Greve, Bauman, Freeberg. Nays: None. 6 yeas - 0 nays. Motion carried. The Board returned to open session at 9:S6pm. 5. Mr. Bauman moved, Mr. Freeberg 2nd to approve the revised architect contract upon approval by the attorneys. 6 yeas - 0 nays. Motion carried. 6. Mr. Bauman moved, Mr. Freeberg 2nd to approve the procedures that will allow Legat Architects to seek quotations for asbestos abatement work at Huntley Grade School to be completed this summer. 6 yeas - 0 nays. Mr. Freeberg moved, Mr. Bauman 2nd to approve the contract to E.T. Paddock, Lemont, IL for $10,858.00 for H.S. Bleachers. 6 yeas - 0 nays. Motion carried. 9. Mr. Crabill moved, Mr. Freeberg 2nd to approve payment of monthly agenda of bills and imprest. Education - $35,552.63; OBM - $5,076.60; Transportation - $2,619.61; Dev. Don. - $50,625.00.
