The girls teams will play in the 5th .Annual Richmond-Burton C'hristmas Classic beginning 7 uesday, December 29th. The sophomore girls compete ai^ciinst Richmond-Burton at &;00pm and the Varsity Team battles Richmond-Burton at 7;30pm. The Boys Varsity Team will play in the MSTC 1992 Holiday Basketball Classic beginning Tuesday, Dec. 29, against Assumplion at 7:00pm at Mid-.Staie Technical College in Wiscon.sin Rapids. The result of this game determines the lime of further competition. iiveryonc is invited to attend any or all of the gaiT^es. Supporting the Redskins would be a holiday treat they all would appreciate. Local Residents' Son Serves In Somalia :*;^!: 1^^ Kids Get Stockings From Santa Kindergarteners and first graders at the Grade School Christmas Program received stockings from Santa after the performance last Thursday night. Grades K-6 put on "An Ail-American Christmas" play including performances by the 5th and 6th grade bands. Band director Philip Homiller, Choral director Ann Tirk and music teacher Julie Ann Peterson brought the entire production together. By Tracey Schwartz Lt. Dennis Contreras D.D.S., son of local residents, Mary E. and Mario G. Contreras, is serving in Operation Restore Hope in Africa. He is stationed with the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Juneau, one mile off the coast of Somalia. The ship has been stationed on the Indian Ocean since December 9th. It joins two other ships in the humanitarian effort in Somalia. They are U.S.S. Tripoli and U.S.S. Rushmore. Contreras, 28, joined the Navy in 1991 to work as a dentist. He is a Loyola graduate. The Contreras family moved to Huntley in September. Mario works as a sales representative for Union Special. He and his wife, Mary, have two other children, Mark and Lisa. Local residents who wish to Lt. Dennis Contreras D.D.S. write or send cards to Contreras, can send to: Lt. John T. Contreras DDS USS Juneau - LSD-10 FPO AP 96669-1713 Huntley Lions Help Out Santa Huntley Lions Dick Kohley, Walter (JR) Lueck, Sam Abdullai and Kerry Ellison pose with "Santa" after helping distribute Christmas stockings of candy during his visit to the Huntley Grade School Holiday Concert. Huntley Boy Scouts Clean Up At Church The newly re-activated Huntley Boy Scout Troop recently conducted a fall cleanup at the First Congregational Church located at Main and Church Streets in Huntley. Looks like they had lots of fun, too!
