St. Mary's Holds Spring Time Celebrations
The First Communion Class of St. Mary's Catholic Church received Our Lord for the first time on Sunday, May 5th. May Crowning was held Sunday, May 12th at St. Marys's Catholic Church with the First Communicants leading the procession outdoors to the statue of our Blessed Mother. Kelly Stensing was the crown bearer and Tracy Drufke crowned the Blessed Mother with Reverend Eugene Parker officiating.
Seniors Meet
Fifty one members of Huntley Senior Citicens answered roll call on April 25th after the meeting was called to order by    ' President Ahrens. After a pot luck dinner, and the Pledge of Allegiance President Ahrens welcomed 5 new members; Marie Bridwell, Ruth Radloff, Mary Lou Hardy, Clyde and Louise Bakley and Virginia Weeks. A special cake, made by Alma Fell, and ice cream was served along with a card presented to
Eileen suid Manning Brown. They will be leaving the group and Huntley to live in Missouri next month.
John C. Stout, an investment broker from A.G. Edwards was introduced and spoke about stocks and bonds. Kevin Ellison and Keith Mallegni, Huntley's full time firefighter/paramedics, were then introduced. Kevin spoke about E.M.S. week May 12-18th and the HFPD Open House on May
15th, from 7 to 9 p.m. He invited each of us to attend to learn more about our own emergency system and to see the new ambulance. Keith wanted to inform us about the up and coming 911 service and urged everyone to put up house numbers. The minutes were read and approved on a motion by Viola Knaak, second by Edna Harting. Park Board Meets
The regular meeting of the Huntley Park District was called to order at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 1991. Present were Commissioners Knott, Olson, Yerke, Borchart, and Mercer. Also attending were Paul Ostrander, Attorney Cowlin, Betsey Warrington, Sandra Wright, Robert Tures, Walter Rist, Bohdan Himiak, Alice Jordi, Jann Crabill, John and Marge Tures.
Mr. Yerke made a motion to approve the minutes of the March 27th meeting, seconded by Mr. Borchart. All voted aye and the motion carried.
A motion to approve the minutes of the vote canvas held on April 6, 1991 was made by Mr. Olson, seconded by Mr.' Borchart. All ayes and the motion carried.
Mr. Knott made a motion to accept the Treasurer's report, seconded by Mr. Olson. All ayes and the motion carried.
The bills for the month were presented. Mrs. Mercer made a motion to pay all bills, seconded by Mr. Olson. All ayes and the motion carried.
The requests for reserva¬ tions of park facilities were passed. The board denied one, held one for more information and passed the rest.
Alice Jordi thanked the board for the Senior Citicens for the four bus trips they enjoyed this past year. They also are booking future trips and hope to participate in the Town Picnic and 'kid's' program.
Jann Crabill from the Huntley Library informed the board that they would like to rent office space in the park office building for six months or more until their building is ready. They would Uke to use some of the park's equipment, but would
install their own telephone
service. An agreement will be
written.
Walter Rist and Bohdan Himiak informed the park of the Prime Group plans for the area southwest of Huntley. They were also very interest¬ ed in our park programs, present and future. Before leaving they pledged to donate the sidewalk in the Village Square Beautification Program.
Paul Ostrander's report included signs for the jogging trails, tank removal, resurface tennis courts, prune tree at Village Square and progress on improvement projects.
Betsey Warrington reported on questions on tree replacements, clean out waterway at OI' Timer's, gained approval by the Johnson and Johnson fitness program and breakdown on program costs.
A motion by Mr. Olson, second by Mrs. Mercer, was to authorize the Treasurer to make necessary fund trans¬ fers. All voted aye and the motion carried. Mr. Yerke made a motion and seconded by Mr. Borchart to approve resolution authoric- ing the filing of the Annual Budget and Appropriation Ordinance. All ayes and the motion carried.
Big thank yous and sad farewells were given to Commissioners Mercer and Olson as they complete their terms on the board. They gave much valuable time and dedication to the park. Mrs. Mercer moved to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Olson. The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 P.M. These minutes are subject

Huntley High Presents "Godspell*
Huntley District #158 will be presenting the musical "Godspell" on May 17 and 18 at 8:00pm in the high school band room.
Tickets are $5 for adults
and t2 50 for senior citizens and students. Reserved seats are available at the high school office or by cstlling 669-6171.
