Whether you call it just high winds or a tornado everyone will be coinparing damage reports due to the storm of Monday evening,  July 13th.
Power was out all over the Huntley area. Commonwealth Edison  - - - brought the power back in varying stages, depending on where you live. Director of Public Works, Jim Schwartz,and his crew, kept a close eye on their progress to get the water and sewer on line before a boil order was necessary. Then they moved on to clean up the town. As morning arrived, Mrs. Botterman was out looking for lost heifers, one of which she found hit by a car. Trees were down throughout the area.
"When I saw everything outside starting to swirl around, I knew it was time to head for the basement," said Maxine Manning of Harmony Rd. west of Huntley. "As my husband, Anthony, and I headed for the basement I saw branches falling and knew my picture window would be gone," she continued.
When they finally came back upstairs the window was still there, but a huge branch was leaning on the house and the roof overhang was on the ground with it. Their yard is littered with branches, big and small, and several are still hanging down from trees. In addition, Anthony's company pig-roast for over 100 people is planned for Saturday at their home. "We just finished cleaning up the yard for the picnic," Maxlne said." and now we have to start again." Fortunately, the company, Brookwood Builders, is sending a crew over to help them with the clean-up.
That's the kind of Good News/Bad News stories we will all be discussing, at least until the next storm comes through.

During Monday night's storm a tree hit Haxine and Anthony Manning's roof on Hari^ony Road.
