Huntley Rre Department Fills Boot
Huntley firefighters Kevin Ellison, John Winkelman and Keith Mallegni promote their "Fill The Boot" program for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Huntley firefighters will be collecting donations on Saturday morning, August 20, and throughout the week at Huntley Supermarket and Main Street locations. Huntley Fire Department would appreciate the community's support of this worthy organization headed up by National Chairman Jerry Lewis. Donation cannisters are also located in Wander Inn, Parkside, Huntley Pharmacy, Village Inn, Huntley Supermarket, Video Smideo, Papa G's and McHenry Savings Bank.
Huntiey Chamk)er Hosts Golf Outing
The Huntley Area Chaitiber of Commerce will sponsor its first annual Golf Outing 1992 on Friday, August 28, at Pinecrest Country Club.
The outing is open to the public and will include 18 holes of golf, cart, dinner, door prizes and a raffle. The cost for golf, cart and dinner is $60 per person. Dinner only is $20 per person.
Businesses interested in advertising may sponsor a hole for $50.

Halat Selected State Fair Delegate For Garden Basket

Liz Halat, with her prize winning "Garden Fresh Basket" of vegetables was selected State Fair delegate at the McHenry County Fair. Liz, 14, is a member of the Huntley Harvestors 4-H Club. Among items in her display are: Pacifica cabbage, Landmark green beans. King Arthur sweet corn. Dasher II cucumbers. Dusky eggplant, Elite zucchini, Multi-Pik summer squash, Pik-rite tomatoes and Sweet Italian Melrose peppers.
Brown, Weiss, Ryan Place In Junior Golf Tourney -
Three Huntley students received awards in the J. Patrick Lawler Junior Golf Tournament at Plum Tree National Golf Club in Harvard August 13.
Mike Brown won first place in the 15-17 age division, shooting a 78 from the Pro-Tees for 18 holes, 6,648 yards. Turning the front 9 holes in 41, he charged the back side and shot a 37 - Fantastic!
Bucky Weiss won the second place award in the 15-17 age division with an 85.
In the 13-14 division, Ryan Parker took third with a 98, only seven strokes out behind first place.
