Huntley Planning CoTmtiission Meeting
Senior Reminder New Phone System For Dan Schaller
The regular monthly meeting of the Huntley Planning Commission was called to order at 7:30 p.m. on November 13, 1989, by Chairman Wilmer Rohlwing. Those members of the board present were Paul Mercer, Ed Domagalski, Darick Franzen and Ron Hahn. Also present were Mayor Dhamer and Building Inspector Schaller.
The minutes of the meeting of October 9, 1989, were read. Mr. Domagalski moved to accept the minutes as read. Mr. Franzen seconded. Motion carried. The minutes of the October 25, 1989, special meeting were read. Mr. Hahn moved to accept the minutes as read. Mr. Domagalski seconded. Motion carried. The agenda was read.
The Marathon people will not be at this meeting as planned due to some engineering that needs to be done. A letter from Baxter & Woodman to Marathon dated November 9, 1989, was read regarding problems with sewer line.
Also Mr. Mercuri will not be here as planned, should be ready in a few weeks.
Bob Kunde was present and is requesting a change in zoning for his property at 11318 Grove Street from R-2 to B-2 for the purpose of repairing vehicles. His property is along the rail¬ road tracks behind Deans. It contains approximately one third of an acre. The building is already there. They purchased .38 of an acre from Mr. Kunde's parents last year. He has 16,675 square feet. There was a question in the Zoning Ordinance as to what size lot is necessary for a B-2 zoning. The board decided they must seek legal counsel from Village Attorney before they could advise Mr. Kunde further.
Mr. Mercer moved to table this matter. Mr. Hahn seconded. Motion carried.
The next grder of business was presented by Jim Hilbert who needs a variance for 90 foot frontage for duplex for his lot on Main Street.
Mr. Mercer moved that the Huntley Planning Commission recommend to the Huntley Zoning Board of Appeals and the Huntley Village Board to
grant a variance as requested by Jim Hilbert for 90 foot frontage for his lot on Main Street. Mr. Franzen seconded. Upon roll call there were five (5) ayes and no (0) nays, motion carried.
Joe Schaller then briefly explained to the board his plans for his residence. He was to have plans delivered, but have not yet arrived. He would like to add a 16 x 22 foot addition to the back of his house. It would be three levels with a rehab area for his son, a solarium and bath and bedroom and kitchen and dining room. Their lot is 95 X 132. He has enough ground and will meet all set backs. Mr. Schaller is requesting a conditional use for duplex and would like to rent out upstairs of home. There will be an extra entrance and fire escape. He would notify adjoining property owners and come back before Planning Commission and Village Board. He plans to return with plans and letters for next meeting.

Grismer's plans were passed out which are to be presented next month.
Mr. Franzen moved to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Domagalski seconded. Motion carried, meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m.

Historical Home To Be Plaqued
Sunday, December 10, at 2:00 pm, McHenry County Historical Society is plaquing the 1885 Queen Anne style Frank W. Patrick home at 321 E. Washington Street in Marengo, now owned by Tom Reed. The public is invited.
The Christmas dinner Dec. 14th at the Village Inn at 1 p.m. $5 deposit required when making reservation with Doris Ball 669-5012 by Dec. 9.
Huntley Jaycees
The Huntley area Jaycees will be holding a meeting at the American Legion Hall on Dec. 7th at 8:00 p.m.
There will be a communica¬ tions dynamics speaker at the meeting.
P.T.O. News
The Advisory Committee of the P.T.O. met Thursday, November SOth, in the cafeteria, at 3:30. Ten members toured the grade school and high school to have a better understanding of our facilities. Each parent member was given a copy of the report to the Board on, projections of enrollment, facility needs, and financial projections. If parents have any concerns or suggestions regarding our school that should be expressed, the next meeting will be, Wendesday, December 20th, in the cafeteria, from 3:15 to 4:15.

Huntley Boys Basketball
The Redskins played their first Conference game on Friday, Dec. 1, against the Rockets of Burlington Central. With only eight players this year, the boys fought hard for a victory over the Rockets, 69-58.
Four of the players were in double figures. Sheldon Faworski led with 17 points, Scott Ravagnie had 14 points, while Jason Faworski and Eric Bauer each had 11 points.
The Illinois Pioneer Telephone Group from West Chicago Council/A T & T/ donates a Sip ii Puff Phone System to Dan &• Julie Schaller, Lake In The Hills, IL (formerly from Huntley, IL).
With this system, calls can be made and received without use of hands and phone receiver for a quadriplegic.
The base phone is a RC 3000AT&T Speakerphone and the Sip & Puff Switch is by Zygo Industries, Lake Oswego, OR.

The Telephone Pioneer Groups are state and nation wide who endeavor to help impaired people. They are a non profit organization of employees and retirees with more than 17 yrs of Service and active in the club.
They donate equipment and articles at no cost to those who qualify, which mostly is donated to schools, nursing homes and organizations where their equipment get the most use.
