National Chamber of Commerce Week Sept. 26 - Oct. 2 SERVING THE PEOPLE OF HUNTLEY SINCE 1960 254. Che Puntltp fmm^iht HUNTLEY, ILLINOIS THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 1993 - VOLUME 33, NUMBER 17 USPS 580-360 m This happy group enjoyed the Tracy Frihart Spaghetti Dinner Benefit iast Monday night, Sept. 20, where over 400 people were served at the Huntley High School cafeteria. The dinner was sponsored by the First Congregational Church of Huntley, Huntley High School and Friends of Tracy. All proceeds from the dinner will go to a trust fund for Tracy who is recuperating from severe injuries suffered in a fall last month. Huntley Homecoming Excitement Begins The excitement of Homecoming in Huntley will be building throughout the week of Sept. 27 through Oct. 2. Special dress-up days for Spirit Week at Huntley High School include Monday, Pajama Day; Tuesday, Inside-Out Day; Wednesday, Cross-Dress & Twins Day; Thursday, Sports & Hat Day and Friday, Spirit Day. As always, the students will be electing the Homecoming King and Queen, their Royal Court and underclass attendants. The traditional Homecoming Parade takes place around the Huntley Square on Friday, Oct. 1, at 2pm. Then, Friday night at 7pm the main event that all the excitement has been leading up to . . . The Homecoming Football Game! This year Huntley will play South Beloit. Saturday night, Oct. 2, beginning at Spm, the Homecoming Dance will be held in the high school cafeteria. McHenry County Board Plans Special Meeting A Special Meeting of the McHenry County Board will be held Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1993, at 7pm, in the Court House at 2200 Seminary in Woodstock. This meeting is for the purpose of discussing Land Use Plan. Year 2010. Benefit Auction Is A Great Success' At the auction which followed the dinner, close to $10,000 was raised. The proceeds will be divided between Tracy Frihart's Trust Fund, Operation Snowball, FFA and the high school music program. Above are auctioneer Charlie Ruth (with cane) and high school organization sponsors (from left) Lynn Sell, Operation Snowball; Chet Nelson, FFA; Phil Homiller, Band; and Ann Tirk, Choir. A huge thank you is expressed from these organizations to the students, teachers and parents who worked many hours to. make this event a success. Village Board Meeting Agenda Set There will be a regular board meeting of the Village of Huntley on Thursday, Sept. 23, 1993 at 7pm in the Village Hall, 11704 Coral St., Huntley, IL 60142. A.
