Huntley's Trinity Lutheran Church (TLC) Preschool will be beginning on Sept. 1 at Trinity. Lira Smith (left) will be director/teacher and Christy Henderson (right) will be assistant-director/teacher.
Preschool Ready To Open Doors!
Trinity has been hard at work getting everything ready to begin preschool sessions on Sept. 1. We are very excited to announce the hiring of our director/ teacher Lora Smith and her assistant director/teacher Christy Henderson.
Lora, originally from Cathage Missouri, is a 1992 graduate of Texas A&I University, with a B.S. degree in Elementary .Education, and a Minor in Early Childhood Education. She was previously employed as the Assistant Director at Rainbow Path Childcare Learning Center. Lora is married, with two sons. They reside in Crystal Lake.
Christy received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from
St. Norbert College in De Pere, WI. She has two years teaching experience in preschool, including special training with the at-risk child. In addition, she has five years experience working in child care centers. She currently resides in Huntley     • with her husband Roger and she is the Secretary of the Huntley Area Jaycees.
They currently have 9 openings available for the 3-day- a-week program and 10 openings for the 2-day-a-week program. These spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Everyone who is currently enrolled and anyone interested in more informa¬ tion is invited to the Open House night. It will held

Wed., Aug. 18, from 7-8:30pm.
What's happening at the Open House?
T.L.C.'s Open House is a chance for parents and their children to see 'their' school. There will be the opportunity to meet the teachers, view the facilities, register children, get the parent handbook and other informa¬ tion on school policies and submit 'fees. (Please bring proof of your child's age, immunization records and a completed physical form.)
There will be a short puppet show in the sanctuary at Spm. It is a new twist on ' the fairy tale "The Three Little Pigs". Be sure not to miss it!
Calf Delivered At The Fair

The Dairy barn at the McHenry County Fair was filled with quiet excitement on Saturday morning, Aug. 7. "Candy," Huntley Pioneer Pete Morzos' cow, was in labor. At 9:34am the miracle of birth took place. It's a boy!
It was unfortunate that Pete hadn't been able to get back to the fair in time for the arrival. However, as is usual
at the fair, fellow exhibitors and Pete's older brother, Steve, lent a helping hand, checking the calf and getting him into the stall so "mom" could do her job caring for her first-born. She went right to work cleaning her baby. She carefully, but politely, watched anyone who came around. Those who should know said it was a perfect birth, .no complications^. , , ., , ,
Pete and his mom, Pam, finally arrived to join the celebration. In lieu of cigars, mini-Butterfinger candy bars were passed around. A sign was put up over the stall to announce the birth. Then they calmly went about the business of seeing to the care and feeding of the newest addition to the family, as fair visitors ooohhhed and aaahhhed over the baby., , t : .
All-Baseball Awards Picnic A Success
Approximately 300 people attended the Huntley Park District's All-Baseball Picnic and Awards Night held Wed., July 21, in Deicke Park. The event included a Moon Walk, fun fair games, volleyball and baseball games and a picnic supper. Each participant in T-ball, Instructional League, 7-9 softball, 10-12 softball, 13-15 softball and pony league received a certificate. Special awards were presented to: Nathan Soper-Most Improved Player, pony league; Martha
Smith-Most Improved Player, 13-15 softball team #1; Kode Freeberg-Most Valuable Player, 13-15 softball team #1; Andrea Wolf and Amy Weber were both chosen Most 'Valuable Player, 13-15 spftball team #2; Natalie Barrientos-Most Valuable Player, 10-12 soft- ball team #1; Amber Jeschke- Most Improved Player, 10-12 softball team #1. The Park District would like to thank all of the coaches from all of the programs, the participants and the parents.
