Huntley Sixth Grade Holds Renaissance Fair
By Nancy Archambeault
Two weeks ago,'the whole sixth grade put on a Renaissance Fair. The Renaissance lasted from the 1400's to the 1600's. The grades K-5 came to see the explorers, minters, glass blowers and others. The sixth
grade worked hard since the beginning of the school year. A group of students even put on the play "A Midsummer's Night's Dream".
"Who put this together?" you may ask. Well, the genius
behind it was Mrs. Stites. Even though we worked hard, Mrs. Stites encouraged us to do a little bit better. So, thanks to Mrs. Stites, the fair went smoothly and was lots of fun.

Planning Commission Discusses Asphalt Plant Zoning .
A special meeting of the Planning Commission of the Village of Huntley was called to order Nov. 29, at 7:02pm, by Chairman Rohlwing. Members present were: Daum, Hahn, Domagalski and Schachtner. Also present were Mayor Dhamer and Administrator Nelis.
The purpose of the special meeting was to review the asphalt plant proposal and a proposed change of the zoning classification from M-2 to M.
George Bernat proceeded. He referred to the last meeting of the Planning Conimission on Oct. 11, 1993 in which the Commission recommended denial of the asphalt plant in that particular location. Mr. Bernat further brought up the fact that Kreutzer Road will be extending into a residential area. Mr. Bernat stated that he has 48 acres zoned M-2, and he also will be personally affected by such a proposed rezoning to M.
Mr. Bernat's letter of Nov. 2, 1993, addressed to Chairman Rohlwing and the Commission, was read by the recording secretary.
Attorney Hoscheit, representing Mr. Bernat, referred to previous zoning and gave an overview of the '78 ordinance and amendments thereto. The major revision was in the '83 amendment (subsequently revised in '89), prohibiting an asphalt plant. Attorney Hoscheit, on behalf of Mr. Bernat, is now making a recommendation that a public meeting be held and the Village Board be asked to clarify the uses intended by the old ordinance and ; subsequent amendments.
Attorney Fuller was present along with Mr. Zwemke. Director of Development for RepQO. Attorney Fuller stated that the Commission is being called upon to make a decision
