And so has - the final year of junior high school for the 1993 Huntley Jr. High graduates. On Tuesday evening, June 1, 1993, sixty- one eighth grade graduates received their diplomas at the graduation ceremony held at Huntley Grade School. The American Legion awards were presented to Scott Dvorak and Jessica Kittel during the graduation ceremony..The 1993 Class Valedictorian, Jessica Kittel, and 1993 Class Salutatorian, Hanns Von Bosse, gave a delightful speech that evening to the ceremony audience. Congratulations to all of you graduates! Have a super summer, and we wish you good luck as you enter the halls of Huntley High in the fall of 1993! Huntley Park District Conducts Business The regular meeting of the Huntley Park District was called to order at 7pm by President Yerke on Wednesday, May 26, 1993. Present were Commissioners Tures, Wright, , Awe, Borhart and Yerke, Attorney Cowlin, Betsey Warrington and Paul Ostrander. Mrs. Wright made a motion, seconded by Mr. Awe, to approve the minutes of the regular meeting and the annual meeting held on April 28, 1993. All commissioners voted aye and the motion carried. Mr. Tures made a motion to accept the Treasurer's reports, seconded by Mr. Borhart. All ayes and the motion carried. The requests for park facility reservations were read. All but one (out of district) were approved. The bills for the month were discussed. Mr. Tures made a motion to pay all bills presented, seconded by Mrs. Wright. All voted aye and the motion carried. Arthur "Hoppy" Kahl entered Hanns Von Bosse was Salutatorian and Jessica Kittel was Valedictorian at the 1993 Eighth Grade Graduation Ceremony of Huntley Junior High School. Huntley Rrefighters Form Association To Benefit Community The Huntley firefighters are proud to announce the formation of their nc\/ organization, "The Huntley Firefighters Association, Inc." The association is a not-for-profit organization funded solely by donations and fundraisers. The purpose of the association is to benefit the community. The association is working on establishing many programs such as a scholarship fund and a fire relief fund. At the Town Picnic on Sunday, June 27, the association will be sponsoring a dunk tank and 50/50 drawing. Featured in the dunk tank will be Village President Jim Dhamer, Fire Chief Dave Veath, Dean of Students Steve Polep, Fire Inspector Al Wiesneth, Mark, Cindy, Mandi and Patty from Parkside, Police Chief Rick Rossi, Officer Kevin Hilner, Building Inspector Butch Ehrke, Grade.SchooI Principal Kelly Baird, Public Works Director Jim Schwartz and Mike Kukla, attorney. Please feel free to call HFPD at 669-5066 with any questions, Monday through Friday, 7:30am-6pm. Huntley Establishes Town Choir the meeting. He represents the Lion's Club and asked about the plans for the log cabin. After a lengthy discussion concerning the log cabin's restoration or replacement, all agreed to get more information and prices. The Annual Budget for 1993-94 was presented and discussed. Attorney Cowlin explained the present laws and their impact on our plans. Tom Jursfrom the Huntley Chamber of Commerce entered It's not too late to join the Huntley Community Choir. The choir will be performing a medley of patriotic numbers on July 4 at 4pm in the gazebo in the Town Square. Practices are held in the Deicke Recreation Center located in Deicke Park. The practice schedule is: Wed., June 16, 7-7:30pm, women and 7:30-9pm mass; Thrs., June 24, 7-7:30pm men and 7:30-9pm mass; Wed., June 30, 7-9pm mass; and other practices as needed. Luann Lamz is the director. Sandy Zippe is the accompanist. For more-information, call the Park District at 669-3180. Chamber Plans Cub Game Trip continued on page 13 Take me out to the CUBS game. . . The Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry will be sponsoring a bus trip to the Cubs game on Saturday, August 14th. The bus will leave the Wander Inn at 10:30am and the game begins at l:00pm. The cost will be $30 per participant for your Cubs ticket, bus ride, beverages on the bus and a sandwich upon return.
