Mike Kresal not pictured. Circus Train The Great Circus Train will embark for Milwaukee from Baraboo July 11 on a roundabout route through southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. The train, with its cargo of 75 antique circus wagons, will pass through 41 communities on the C&NW track, stopping at several to give spectators a closer look at the trains. The train will pass through Crystal Lake at 11:05 a.m. July 12 en route to a 15 minute stop at Arlington Heights. Planning Agenda The next Huntley Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for July 10, 1989 at 7:30 p.m., at the Village Hall. The agenda for that meeting is as follows: * Frank Mercuri and his architect will be presenting their concept plan for the development on Main Street concerning the old High School. * Review and accepting the final plans of Bakley's 13th ti 14th additions. * Village engineer Schweigel will be in attendance to bring the zoning up to date for the town map. Chairman Wilmer Rohlwing Legion Baseball Royal Blue "City" Team - 2nd Place Front row: Matt Zimmerman, Todd Schneiderman, Rick Newmann, Kurt Schmidt, David Keller. Back row: Brian Kahl, Jeff Essig, Charlie Olsen, Ken Headley, Chuck Newmann, Assistant Coach Troy Keesling and Coach Chuck Neumann. Huntley American Legion Baseball League "Winds Up Season." Thanks go out to the Huntley American Legion for sponsoring 4 "City" league baseball teams this summer (just as they've done in previous years). The teams learned and developed the proper techniques in the sport of baseball. As the season was in full swing, the individual boys became as one - working as a team. AH in all, the team members, as well as the team coaches, had a great time this season. Win or lose - good sportsmanship was stressed among the teams. Thanks again to the American Legion for their sponsorship and assistance. Also, thanks to the umpires for their time. And, a special thanks goes to the coaches and assistant coaches for their time and guidance. These three groups worked hand in hand, as a "team", to make this baseball season an enjoyable one. Wednesday evening, June 27th, brought a close to the Legion's "City" league season. Awards were handed out after the games that night. The "Navy City Team" won 1st place in the season (this team was undefeated through the entire season.) The "Royal Blue City Team" took 2nd place. Honorable Mention went to both the "Green City Team" and the "Red City Team". Congratulations to all 4 "City" league teams for a super season. The regular monthly meeting of the Huntley Planning Commission was called to order on June 12, 1989, at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Wilmer Rohlwing. Those members of the board present were: Darick Franzen, Jack Daum, Ed Domagalski and Paul Mercer. Also present was Building Inspector Joe Schaller. Chairman Rohlwing welcomed new board member, Darick Franzen. Minutes of the May 8, 1989, meeting were read. Mr. Mercer made one correction, that being concerning the proposed project for Mercuri which should have been stated as being tabled, and eliminate "for one month". Mr. Domagalski then moved to accept the minutes as corrected. Mr. Daum seconded. Motion carried. The agenda was read. The first order of business was presented by Pete Boll of Repco. Mr. Mercer moved to remove subject from table. Mr. Franzen seconded. Motion carried. Mr. Boll said that on the original plat the 650 foot cul-de-sac was accepted by the Village. He has now the Land Planners, Donahue Engineering, come up with plans to show different uses of land for 500 foot cul-de-sac and for 650 foot cul-de-sac. At 660 the railroad spurs hit the lots better, also detention ponds would be better. At 500, would be smaller lots. Back in 1978 plan, plan was submitted with 650 foot. They would like to retain 650 foot for best utiUzing of land. Mr. Mercer questioned if other things have been changed on plans since 1978.
