Huntley FFA Takes 14th Place
The Huntley FFA chapter won 14th place on Nov. 10, in the National FFA Nursery/Landscape CarcCT Development Event during the 67th National FFA Convention held in Kansas City, MO. The Huntley team, representing the state of Illinois, consisted of Lindsey Lane, Don Farrell, and Emily Lombard, coached by FFA advisor and Huntley High School ag teacher, Chet Nelson. The 14th place won the team a silver medal in the competition against 47 other teams representing 47
different states.
In individual competition, Farrell placed 12th out of 129, earning a gold medal and Lane and Lombard each earned a silver medal. The four part nursery/land¬ scape event tests student's skills by having them identify plant specimens by both their technical and common names, judge nursery plant material and take a multiple-choice test, besides performing hands-on activities that range from landscape drawing to interpersonal relations to nursery operation practices.

The Huntley village board met last Thursday for the first time in the new board room of the recently-acquired annex building, located on east Main. The meeting room offers first floor access, more seating and a better view of the trustees as they conduct monthly village business. Board meetings are held the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 7pm.
Parkside Plans 12th Annual Turkey Festival
The 12th annual Turkey Testicle Festival will be held on Wed., Nov. 23, at the Parkside Pub in Huntley, with testicles being served 4-lOpm. The $2 door charge will be donated to the Huntley Area Jaycees and Huntley Lions Club, non-profit organizations helping the local community. Even if you're a little squeamish about eating testicles, stop by
to pick up some of the "Official" Turkey Testicle Festival collector items, including hats, sweatshirts, t-shirts and boxer shorts. They are also looking for edible recipes using turkey testicles as the key ingredient. The best and most creative recipes will be included in next year's "Official Turkey Testicle Festival Recipe Book." Closet chefs can enter
their recipes by calling the Turkey Testicle Festival's official hotline at 1-900-454- 4585. The cost per call is only $2.99. You must be at least 18-years-old or have parent's permission to call. All proceeds will be donated to the Huntley Area Jaycees. Or, drop off your recipe idea the night of the festival at the Parkside Pub.
Huntley Planning Commissions Considers Projects
The planning commission of the Village of Huntley convened at the village annex building, 11221 Dundee Rd. in Huntley on November 14. The meeting was called to order at 7:05pm by Chairman Rohlwing. Present were Commissioners Brown, Domagalski, Daum, Hahn, Schachtner and Borchart. Also present were Mayor Dhamer
and Administration Nelis.
Minutes of October 10. 1994: Motion by Schachtner, 2nd Brown, to approve the minutes. Vote: ayes, all. Motion carried.
Donahue/Dean Foods Propertv - PUD Recommendation: Administrator Nelis presented to the commission that PUD
zoning specifies a minimum lot size. Special consideration could be given if the project was for the good of the public. In this particular case, the additional storage provided for the trucks would be the benefit.
