No Matter What Japan Says. We've Got Quality Work In Huntley
C&M Auto Body owners, Gene Campbell and Calvin Minks with employee Scott McEwen take great pride in their quality and craftsmanship.

In these days when it seems that Japanese officials make disparaging remarks almost daily about American workmenship, it's encouraging to find real quality craftsmen right here in Huntley. In the auto industry, no less.
Gene Campbell and Calvin Minks, owners of C & M Auto Body & Truck Repair, Inc., pride themselves in the quality and craftmanship of their work.
And they're not the only ones who think they're good. State Farm Insurance has given their business a Preferred Al Rating in heavy collision repair. This rating means that they restore damaged automobiles to at least the original equipment manufacturer's specifications or better.
Campbell and Minks started up C & M Auto Body last March in Campbell's garage in Kingston, Illinois. However, they quickly realised they needed more space. So last April they set up shop in Suite E of 11414 Smith Drive in Huntley. The body shop
handles work from Bartlett to
Crystal Lake and their
business clients include . Milbum Brothers, Fenzel
Motors, Allied Asphalt,
Oakley, NIR and ITR. C&M Auto Body's services
include restoration, show vehicles, crash work, fiberglass work, trucks, even painting airplanes and kitchen cabinets. They've even had offers to paint helicopters in their 16'xl6'x27' paint booth. In eiddition, they do crash work with a frame machine, a device that can literally reverse the crash effects on a car. Their machine makes corrections that are accurate to within 1 millimeter.
C&M Auto Body offers a free rental car with insured collision jobs over $1500 that do not include rental car provisions. They also have towing available with Ken's Auto or Dan's Towing.
Campbell has over 18 years of experience in auto body work. He has worked for several dealerships including Springhill Ford. He met Minks doing auto body work for Ray Plote. Business was slow and both men were doing more and more side jobs. Finally they decided between them they had enough side jobs to make it a full time business of their own.
Originally from Canton, Ohio, Campbell lives in Kingston with his wife,
Jackie, and three sons, Chad,
IS; Timmy, 7; and Adam, 5. A native of Carpentersville
Minks started out as a truck mechanic with a hobby in car restoration. Twenty years later he has made it his career and his life. Minks who has one son, lives in South Elgin and is an active member of the Fox Valley Torkers Car Club.
Campbell and Minks employ Scott McEwen, a former North Shore auto body man where he worked on "Cars for the Stars." His impressive list of clients included big name members of the Chicago Bears and Bulls. With over 20 years of experience, McEwen specializes in Porsches, Mercedes, Jaguars, Maseratis, Corvettes, Audis, Acuras and the new Lexus. Orginally from Wheeling, McEwen lives in Carpentersville with his wife, Linda, and three children, Chris,15; Mark, 12; and Scott, 9.
So far the crew at C & M is quite pleased with Huntley. Campbell says, "People in town are pretty friendly." McEwen comments,"We all have lots of friends out here." As they near their one year anniversiiry, they say business is picking up despite the recession. Minks says," We like the town. We like being here. We're just trying to get the word out that we're here."

Huntley's 7th-8th grade cheerleading squad took First Place at the Mid-Northern Conference Cheerleading Competition held at Zion Lutheran School on January 13th & 14th.
