(1 to r, on ground) Becki Schmalback, Paula Kohley, Mark Mercer, Roger Henderson, Christy Henderson and Mark Puffer on the ladder. Suburban, Huntley State Banl(s IVIerge Yesterday Huntley Bancshares stockholders approved Huntley's merger into Suburban Bancorp, Inc. (SUBBA). Suburban and Huntley previously received required regulatory approval to merge Huntley Bancshares into Suburban. Completion of the merger is expected in July 1993, according to Suburban Bancorp President Gerald F. Fitzgerald, Jr. and Huntley Bancshares Chairman Wayne M. Miller. The State Bank of Huntley will become the thirteenth community bank in Suburban's multibank organi¬ zation. Following the merger, the State Bank of Huntley will operate under its present name, continuing as a community-responsive bank consistent with Suburban's banking philosophy, accord¬ ing to Fitzgerald. The merger will create a $1.25 billion asset multi- bank holding company. The merger will give Suburban its fourth bank with a total of eight offices in rapidly expanding McHenry County. Overall Suburban will have 30 bank offices in the north, northwest and west corridors outside Chicago. The Huntley Firefighters Assoc, invites you down to the Huntley Town Picnic to 'dunk" your favorite people. The dunking starts with Jeff Homuth, Fire District Trustee, at 10am; followed by Jim Dhamer, Huntley Village President, at 11am; John Berlin from Wander Inn at 11:30am; Steve Polep, Huntley High School Dean of Students, at 12pm; Rick Rossi, Huntley Police Chief, at 12:30pm; Jim Schwartz, Public Works Director, at 1pm; Mike Kukla, Village Attorney, at 1:30pm. The Parkside staff offers themselves up to the dunk tank with Mark McDonald at 2pm; Cindy McDonald at 2:30pm; Patty Freese at 3pm; and Mandi Barton at 3:30pm. To finish the day people can take a shot at Al Wiesneth, Fire Inspector, at 4:30pm; or Dave Veath, Fire Chief, at Spm. Fill-ins will be Butch Ehrke, Building Inspector and Kevin Hilner, Police Officer. Seniors Offer Baked Goodies At Huntley Town Picnic^ The Huntley Senior Citizen Club will be holding a bake sale at the Town Picnic this Sunday. Stop by for yummy baked goods or just to visit. Applications for membership will also be available. A list of activities will be there. Also, there are only 4 seats open for the Branson, MO trip on September 15. Sign up now by calling Alice Jordi at 669-5643. Old, New Huntley Rre District Trustees l\/leet The regular meeting of the Huntley Fire Protection District was held on May 20, 1993. Roll call showed the following present: Trustees Larry Graf, Al Allen, Jeff Homuth, Joe Gow, Maynard Williams, Chief Dave Veath and Attorney Mike Kukla. A motion to approve the minutes of April 14, 1993, was made by Trustee Allen, seconded by Trustee Graf. Roll call showed all ayes. The treasurer then presented the treasurer's report, a copy of which is attached hereto. A motion to approve the treasurer's report was made by Trustee Allen, seconded by Trustee Graf. Roll call showed all ayes. Next was the election of officers. A motion to elect Larry Graf as president was made by Trustee Homuth. Trustee Graf declined the position. A motion to elect Joe Gow as president was then made by Trustee Homuth, seconded by Trustee Williams. Roll call showed Homuth, aye; Williams, aye; Gow, aye; Allen, pass; & Graf, pass. Motion carried. A motion to elect Trustee Williams as secretary was made by Trustee Allen, seconded by Trustee Graf. Roll call showed Homuth, aye; Williams, aye; Gow, aye; Allen, aye; and Graf, aye. Motion carried. A motion to elect Trustee Homuth as treasurer was made by Trustee Graf, seconded by Trustee Allen. Roll call showed Homuth, aye; Wilhams, aye; Gow, aye; Allen, aye; and Graf, aye. Motion carried. A motion to retain Stampler & Vito as auditor was made by Trustee Graf, seconded by Trustee Allen. Roll call showed Homuth, aye; Williams, aye; Gow, aye; Allen, aye; and Graf, aye. Motion carried. A motion to retain Mike Kukla as attorney for the District on an month-to-month basis was made by Trustee Gow, seconded by Trustee Williams. Roll call showed Homuth, aye; Williams, aye; Gow, aye; Allen, aye; and Graf, aye. Motion carried. At 7:15pm a motion to go into executive session for the purpose of discussing real estate purchase and personnel was made by Trustee Gow, seconded by Trustee Allen. Roll call showed all ayes. At 8:50pm a motion was made by Trustee Homuth, seconded by Trustee Gow, to adjourn the executive session. Roll call showed all ayes. Next was a review of the monthly bills. A motion to approve the bills was made by Trustee Williams, seconded by Trustee Homuth. Roll call showed all ayes. A motion was made by Trustee Gow, seconded by Trustee Williams, to adopt a resolution adding Trustee Homuth, Trustee Williams and Trustee Gow as authorized signers on all district accounts. Roll call showed all ayes. Attorney Kukla discussed the procedures for approving the budget. A motion to adopt the tentative budget and hold the public hearing prior to the July board meeting was made by Trustee Allen, seconded by Trustee Homuth. Roll call showed all ayes. Chief Veath reported that for April there were 37 ambulance calls and 13 fire calls for a total of 50 calls. Continued on page 7
